My aftermarket wing cracked at the pedestals where it bolts to the bedcover. I have always wanted to change to the original wing (which I do not have) I can get the wing repaired but this gives me a good excuse to install an original wing and different style bedcover. Any suggestions, I will need both, wing and bedcover.

wifey has a wing for sale.
i have the Checker Pro flush mount bed cover with added graphics.
i can't seem to get the thread link to show up here. check under "visual mods" & tonneau covers. mo photos

retrax....

I just finished installing the retrax cover and although it looks awesome, i have a few misunderstandings. removal of the wing will be a chore!! it is notched for the wing alright but not for removing or installing it.I have to remove the end clamp and pull the rail out of the way for the wing to slide . it also sits on the rail abit so the wing is off the truck rail. probably just needs some grinding!!!! off the rail to fix this all up. i could take some pics if you like?

Don't forget the wings for the cover and without cover are different. I have found the regular, non cover wing in the past when people asked about it. Never was able to find the wing that goes on the bed cover. Maybe you can get that from the dealer. Probably cost a fortune though.

The Retrax site has the SRT10 SPECIFIED (cut out for the 10 wing)!!!Mine goes on and off in a matter of a couple minutes !!! :dontknow:

I had the same problem with my Retrax. To aid in the wing removel I loosen all the clamps and forced the cover to the front of the bed then tighten the bolts. The wing comes off now without hitting the cover.

Jack...the Retrax does warp and waves in direct sun, it also makes noise at higher speeds from the air turbulence.

Opps, sorry, my bad...yes, our beloved Italian friends were here and were sent off with tee-shirts in their bags...what friends we have made...the VTCOA should be proud to have them as members.

We are fortunate, they are very good people, glad to be associated with them and you too Roy...

I had the coolest bedcover on mine. It was retractable by electric remove... worked like a roll-up door but sturdy enough to hold 250 lbs if you had to walk on it... (I never did)... It glides right under the wing with no mods required.

It's made by Pace Edwards and is called a BedLocker..... I loved it...

It was pricey........ $1300 four years ago....

I have a pace edwards jack rabbit. It does not come notched like the retrax but is easy to do, plus you cut so there is no issue removing the wing.

Like the retrax it does rattle in the tracks at higher speeds in the wind. I went with it over the retrax as I like the vinyl look rather than the metal/plastic.

If I had it to do over again I would wait until I found a 06 cover and wing.
