I am looking for a digital camera.Needs to be simple, fairly small, and inexpensive. If I have understood what I have researched so far,I need a minimum of 6 megapixels for clear photos. It won't be used much9maybe once a month ?) Any suggestions ? I saw one in wally world for around $150 by pentax. How much internal memory do need or should I just get the memory sticks/cards whatever ? :dontknow:  :dontknow:  :dontknow:

Have you considered a throwaway?

Kodak has a decent deal, 5 megapixel cam./ with docking station photo printer for around $250.00 or less if on sale.

Canon PowerShot SD600 6MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom......and get a 1gig memory card....great camera......$199.00

You get what you pay for. I wouldn't get anything less than a Cannon Rebel or a Nikon D70 with at least an 80x Flash Memory.

Never underplay the ability to chage lenses

Fujifilm F30 6.3 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, 6x digital zoom and an amazing ISO of 3200. In laymans terms it can see in the dark. Photos taken at night look as if they were taken in daylight. I've used it like night vision goggles to look for misplaced items in the dark. Also takes short videos with sound. Under $300 new on ebay.

I have the Nikon D50 and love it. Although I wish now I had gone with the D70, but both are great cameras.

I just bought a Nikon with 6 megapixals, 3Xzoom, and added a 512mg memory card and it will take 347 pictures. It will fit in your shirt pocket and has great features for $239 at WalMart.

We jsut bought the Sony DSC-N1 8.1 mega pixel with a 3" touch screen on the back and a Carl Zeiss lens. What a camera!! It is small, and performs very well for it's size. I think we paid about $340 for it, but they just came out with the DSC-2 which is 10.1 mega pixels, so the DSC-1 price should be around $250 or less now if you can find one.

Thanks to all who offered advice.I will check out wal mart , best buy and e-bay to find the one with the best price/features.
