Who has a Roe SC and SCT?

Marty will be writing me a tune to go with the VEC for now. I've got some moving some around to do over the next few months. Once I get settled down in Cali, I'll pull the VEC completely and get a good tune with the SCT.
You planning on making the swap??

I am 100% SCT now but having issues....Marty has worked well on trying to resolving them but we ran out of time Friday so I thought I might see if anyone else has the SCT working.....I think my issues are because I am not just a stock engine with a Roe (see sig).......Marty has been great about getting this resolved......truck runs much stronger at WOT but has problems idleing and while driving normally..:dontknow:

What is the benefit to switching? If you have a good tune on the VEC, why go to the trouble to switch? The VEC is almost worthless in the resale market now with the SCT available.

I wouldnt say the VEC is worthless...it is still a very good tuning tool...I just think the SCT will be able to offer more as time goes by and it cleans up the engine bay.............I am also running what I think is the first Roe meth controller that works without the VEC..

Let me know wht you think about the SCT once you get it figured out. I wonder if I'll have the same problems with mine... our trucks are pretty similar:dontknow:

I will do a complete thread once I get it working right...or I guess I should say Marty gets it right...and I am sure he will..............

...BTW..about the VEC verses the SCT.....Roe does not offer his SC with the VEC anymore..he has gone with the SCT...

I know the VEC is a good tool, but not many will buy one with the SCT being plug and play.

The VEC is hard to install, plus you can not control the fans with the VEC. Sadly I put on my Roe about 4 months before the SCT was available however I see no reason to change.

Curious, why do you have Marty doing your tune? I would think Roe could do the tune, given it is their meth and SC?

i got my roe kit just beffore they switched:mad: i was also wondering why he had marty doing the tune instead of sean!!:dontknow:

I have the Roe and it is tuned with the SCT by Roe.

You need to change your Map sensor from a 2 bar to 1 bar or vice versa, can't remember??

The pluses:
1. Better low RPm response and HP
2. Much smoother.
3. Much better gas mileage.

I have had mine tuned with the SCT for over a month now and no problems to report!!

Plus I don't have to worry about getting the Vec wet any more!!

The MAP sensor is changed from a 1 bar to 2 bar...actually uses a 2005 SRT4 map sensor........

I am having issues right now with the engine being slow to go back to idle and when you touch the throttle the A/F goes off the scale lean for a second..........at WOT A/F runs around 12 and the truck pulls much harder than before....Marty should resume working on it tomorrow..

Sean did not want to do a tune on mine because my truck is far more modded than just the blower...10 lb pulley, ported heads, bored .010 over and other mods.......he would if I was on site but not by email...Marty claims he can do a long distance tune while I am on a dyno here...we shall see..

What do you mean exactly by being slow back to idle??

When you let off the gas and push the clutch in it takes it 3-4 seconds to get back to idle speed...annoying when shifting..
idle might be set higher than your original tune, marty said something to me about adjusting the throttle body with an allen wrench

Marty had us adjusting the throttle plate position using an allen wrench and Star Scan....The idle is supposed to be 800 and does drop to that after a few seconds....it just hangs at about 2K for a couple seconds before dropping.......My A/F guage jumps all over the scale except when the truck is at WOT....acts like it keeps over correcting...I may have a bad O2 sensor or something..:dontknow:

let me know the solution u comeup with ,seems like we have the same problem

You are still running a Paxton?........you having both issues...idle and A/F?..
just the idle issues really, not happening all of the time but usually when i'm doing city driving its worse,.i just havent had much time to look at it but i figured my a/f is gonna change when my idle jumps around until it settles back down to 800,and yes this is on my paxton

How does the ECU detect boost with the Paxton setup?...I assume the 2 bar MAP sensor Marty had me install does it for the Roe / SCT setup..
