Anyone install the Bassani headers on their SRT-10? I just did mine last night. I used new gaskets. The question that I have is the hardware that came with the new headers. There wasn't any flat or lock washers. Just the bolts. It really seemed like the bolt would bottom out in the head before proper torque was achieved. I know it was close. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Or, should I pull all the bolts and at least install lock washers?:dontknow:

Thanks...

I used new OEM header gaskets on mine and didnt have any problem with the header bolts.

I did however have a problem with the collector bolts not having enough thread (couldnt tighten down all the way) Had to go to the hardware store and purchase new collector bolts to make it work.

Do the Bassani headers bolt right up to the stock mid pipes? Or do you need to modify the mid pipes for them?

Bill.

One thing I did notice. Underhood temps are noticably higher.

You have to be carefull that all of your wiring and hoses are clear of these headers.

I have dual 12" pusher fans. They are useless.:banghead: Only thing they are good for is trying to cool the motor off between runs at the track.:hmmmm2:

You guys notice the same thing?

No I did not see an increase in temps at all.

REALLY? Hell, motor temp is about the same. Under hood temp is way hotter. The intake manifold is now to hot to touch. I can even go near the AC lines that run on the passenger's side. Looks like I have to hit the local performance shop and buy some heat tape and cover the wiring harness for the ECM and the AC lines.

Are you sure?

I did not see any noticable increase in underhood or engine temps. Are you sure you didn't lean out? Did you disconnect your computer and let it reset to the mod? If you engine is running lean, it will generate MUCH more heat...

I have a BG SII Flash. He told me it will work better with headers. I had the battery disconnected while doing the install. So, it was disconnected for more than 14 hours. Not that it took that long..it sat overnight.

Dunno man, I did not see what you are seeing on mine.
