hey just wondering how you guys warm up in the mornings??
i start the truck...let her idle for about 30 secs to let the oil get round everywhere...move off but dont exceed 2k rpm till the oils at 180!
problem is theres usually some moron right up my backside trying to pass me before i get warmed.....excercise is self restraint not to smoke him!!!!

i take a nice hot shower and stand under the heat lamp!!!!! oh..you meant the truck......dont know....dont drive it when its cold out.

Turn truck on..let it idle while I lock up the house and get my stuff, then head out the door and she's ready :)

P.S - Not recommended if you live in a bad area, or don't have a garage lol

Mine always gets a 5 minute warm up in the morning. Once its gets to the 30's, its closer to 10

And then once I'm out and about. If the temp is reading, its push the button and go, otherwise, will always get a bit of a warm up

but I've done the samething with every vehicle I've owned since spending time in Minot North Dakota.

For those that don't know.......whatever you think cold is, its warmer than Minot by about 50 degree's on a good day. So if you've ever spit and had it freeze to your lip, your getting close :D

I do the exact same process - I think it is the best policy where any engine is concerned. Learned it from a former race car mechanic...always let your engine oil reach a good warm temp before stressing it!

In Texas we're still using the heater a little in the morning and the AC in afternoon. ;)

In the mornings I cruise slowly to the freeway (about 6 blocks), at which time I'm getting warm air from the heater. Then I enjoy the nice long entrance ramp - often at WOT. Did I ever tell you ... I love my tuck. :D

I let it warm up 30secs to well over a min depending on the temps. Also dont go over 3k rpms until it reaches operating temps ;)

someone once told me letting it idle for too long was also bad because it reached operating temp quicker when on the move!
i still like to give it at least 30 secs just to let the oil get around the engine!

I let it warm up for about 2 minuets. Then I roll.
I live in Northern Maryland. Nippy in the morning but not as cold as
when I lived in Detroit.

Same here....start truck, put on belt, set radio to a good tune, check seat position, empty pockets, take a sip of water (30 seconds :dontknow: ), roll out slowly, and wait till good and warm before pedal to floor action...

Grandfather told me when I was young....start the car, then put on your belt and get everything set for your trip....by then, the oil and tranny are ready to go.....if it's cold, I'll sometimes wait a little longer when it's below 40.... I do miss being able to plug in my diesel at night and waking up to a perfectly warm vehicle in the winter...

In the summer (all 2 weeks of it) i usually give it 1-2 min before rolling and then keep it low in the RPM's waiting till it gets to avg. running temp.

In the #*&#* winter i let it warm up for 10 minutes minimum.. although i've only drove it once when it was cold out, something about those Scorpion Z1's I don't trust on snow. Donuts would be fun though :D But she's parked for winter.

Mine's not a daily driver, so at times it can sit for a few weeks between uses, so I usually let it idle a minute or so before I move out. Then take it easy for a few miles before I have fun.:burnout:

So, if you hock a lugee at something (or someone;) ), you could possibly do some damage! :D

Mine stays the garage at all times (even at work, I have covered underground parking), so in the morning by the time I get everything together and get out of garage, then drive the 3-4 blocks to the main road, which I have to do sainly (staying below 2k rpm) because I would piss off my neighboors... so by the time I reach that point it well into operating temperature.. before it get the morning foot to floor action...
