Why I bought my SRT 10

I like the CTS-V too, I'm not ready to spend that kind of money right now. This 300 just fell into my lap, sort of, it's an 06 with 9k miles on it, black, garage kept its whole life. It's almost perfect and the price is right. We are still kicking it around.

UNLEASH THAT BEAST!!

With only 9k miles I'd snatch it up, could drive it for a year or two and probably still come out pretty good on it.

That's what I thought but with my wife going back to school in September I really didn't want another car payment.

I came of driving age in 2002 back when Ford owned the road with the L and the Cobra stangs and the Saleens, etc. One of the largest Ford dealers in the world was right around the corner and all those pretty Cobras and L's were always out there and those were my dream cars/trucks. Being a Ford fan at the time when they owned Aston Martin, I also loved those cars too. Then my senior year of high school, 2004, the SRT-10 truck came out. I had a good friend whose family was big on Mopars. His dad bought a SRT-8 300 and my buddy got a regular cab Ram, but he was obsessed with the SRT-10. He showed me pics on the internet and magazine articles and needless to say I was hooked, but didn't have the money. I ended up graduating and later in 2004 bought my first car, well first car that I bought for myself, a 2002 Ford SVT Focus that I later ProCharged and had at almost 300fwhp. I was still young and into the "Fast and Furious" scene. I later sold that car when I got stationed at Fort Campbell and got a 2006 Ram 4x4, mineral grey. It was a great truck and I was content keeping it until one afternoon in Tampa, FL while in college, I took my roommate to pick up his Jeep from storage. On the way back I came up on a Nissan dealer and sitting there right next to the road in the used lot was what is now my truck. I stopped in looking for a joyride and ended up leaving with the 10 lol. Black 10 4 door was my dream SRT, the price was right, the numbers worked out on trade-in, so I did it. I now literally own one of my dream vehicles and couldn't be happier.
