Why is gas so High....I found the answer!

The reason that Dubai is building all of this stuff, and attracting all of the visitors, is because they realized some years ago that their natural resource will run out eventually. If they don't have oil, they have no source of income.

It's called economics, and it looks like they are pretty good at it.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that any company is in business to make money and as much as possible.

There is lots of oil and gas wells here (Alberta) that are caped because it does not meet the company's profit margins. The oil and gas is in the hole but they want to make as much money as possible.

Maybe we should all buy oil and gas stocks and get something out of this wild ride.:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

True....but how much would it cost to tap into that oil Marc? Sometimes its easier to pay to have it done, I know I have done it a few times on my truck.

Plus....I'm sure there are some political ramifications concerned with buying oil from the middle east. We dont know everything that goes on behind closed doors.

In the long run alot less than paying the middle east countries there profit and the transportation!! The biggest reason is our refineries are out dated and we need more, thats why Diesel is more expensive than gas right now!

We need to become self sustained in the enrgy department so we don't have to rely on other countries who hate us!

lived in Dubai for four years....i have been down that thing and its cool...no pun intended. Dubai is an awesome place...i recommend going if ever given the chance.

Once again, the great ape of the northwest is right on the money. More power to these folks. They made themselves into a destination resort in the area. They don't tolerate terrorism and welcome all nationalities. Historically, they have been a friend to the US and sent troops to Desert Storm. BTW, my brother worked on the design of that palm tree island community.

Most of our oil doesn't come from the desert. It comes from the frozen tundra of Canada. Mexico is our second largest importer of oil. These two countries account for nearly 90% of our imports. And, yes we have our own huge reserves but until we are willing to tap our own resources and quit worrying about upsetting a handful of caribou we should stop whining. It cost $$$ to be green.

Prices are based on supply and demand and what the customer is willing to pay. We Americans complain about the cost of fuel but continue to keep paying whatever they ask. We do little or nothing to conserve and decrease the demand and therefore the price. I'm no tree hugger but it seems clear that if we saved a few aluminum cans, turned off a few lights in our homes and walked to the store occasionally we would make a collective dent in the demand for energy in our country. But, no one wants to give up comfort or convenience and change their lifestyle. I can't believe I agree with with Danko but, as long as we are willing to accept the staus quo, we only have ourselves to blame.

Blame the speculators that buy in frenzy every time they incorrectly think some world event is going to disrupt the supply oil.

I'm sure there is more to it than that, but I am just a simpleton that heard that on tv and got a D in econ in college. :dontknow:

I wonder how pricey those condos are? Thats an awful lot of of new buildings, who is buying them? Those pics make it look like its the Vegas of the middle east.............just insane growth.
