you need a new mechanic
there is two ways of doing this,
one i go with a custom adapter and a turbo 400 about $7000 if ya lucky by the time your done.
or buy a flywheel adapter and adapt an overdirve tranny, and after the electronics probably about $9000 or so.
better off finding a junk yard dog, and converting

As for the original question of this post, the pace trucks were automatic. Like was said, it can be done it will just cost money. The column shifter will not have to be changed. You can do that with a floor shifter to save some headache. I am just guessing here, but I bet a donor engine, tranny, harness, and PCM can be made to work. It may require a new driveshaft and possible custom component mounts.
