Alot has been said in the last few days regarding cleaning up the lyrics in rap music. After all, Don Imus lost his backing (sponsors and network) because he called the Rutgers womens basketball team, "a bunch of nappy-headed hos".... It seems that Imus got way too big for his own britches and obviously said something really arrogant and stoopid.... Everyone realizes that.

As a result, television news programs are now rife with stories about pressuring Jesse (the pimp) and Reverand Al to go after hip-hopper lyrics in the interests of fair play. This ain't gonna happen.... There are many reasons why, but here's the most glaringly apparent (of them).

Money.

Don Imus' show was cancelled because the sponsors dropped him.... Poof... "where's the money"......? Ergo: scratch one radio show. The rap industry relies solely on an audience of individuals who dig that language. They ain't gonna give that up... Not for anyone...especially white people....

These (so-called) disenfranchised blacks (who devour that shit with a roll of toilet paper and a spoon) keenly enjoy the status of peasant snobbery in which they revel... They thrive on the immunity from all rules and regulations that hip-hop music affords.... They won't agree to give up this immunity simply because whitey complains about the inequity of it.

Why should they.....? They'll suffer no loss of revenues.. In fact they will probably rachet up the filth and thumb their noses at whites. All the while increasing their wealth.... Go head, buy some more gold chains' n sheitt...

Jesse (the pimp) Jackson and Rev Al are nothing more than older versions of the same black mindset. They use their suits and their grey hair to provide an ersatz credibility to a multi billion dollar industry that knows no bounds of decency, honesty or integrity.

The hip-hop industry is quite like the mobsters during prohibition... They get into some shit and they simply blow one another away on the street... Everyone has seen this ....

This isn't a news story.... It's a cheap, pathetic ruse by these two ho/clowns to garner more attention to themselves and bolster the idiotic premise that they actually "do something productive"..... These assholes are simple parasites...nothing more.

And if you labor under delusions that hip-hop will clean up it's language...or the blacks will give up their excluse rights to the words "ho", "nigger" or "bitch".... You shall wait in VAIN.

This is the same playbook that radical Islam uses regarding their exclusive right to bash all other religions, but blow the shit out'a innocent people if someone says "boo" about Mo-fkn-hammad.

Give me strength.........The world has descended into choas... and nothing (anymore) makes any frikkin' sense....

I believe you are right Tim...In fact I said the same thing in a diffrent way on Bob's thread ;) :D Of course you say things in a intelligent way and I don't...You sorta have to read between the lines LOLOLOOL :D But I say what I feel anyway:eek: :D

There is another reason for this as well. It is simply that political correctness only extends as far as white people, and white men in particular.

I don't consider myself to be a racist, though in all honesty I will say that I believe everyone harbors some racism. It's human nature if you ask me, protect and stand by the tribe, or group or whatever you want to call it. But, I am not outwardly racist, I try to judge individuals based on that individual. Does that mean I won't laugh at a good racist joke? Hell no, just as long as it is funny.

I believe everybody deserves a fair shake, but then they only deserve what they are willing to work for or are strong enough to take.

Back to the subject though. I am a fan of Carlos Mencia and his show Mind of Mencia. I think it is pretty funny. The thing is, he is permitted to poke fun at every race of people, because he is a "minority". He makes jokes based on racial stereotypes of hispanics, blacks, asians, whatever. And nobody says shit, because he isn't white.

For some reason the white population of this country have allowed ourselves to be guilted right into submission. This isn't about racial equality, it is about payback for shit that happened a long time ago, sometimes hundreds of years. This is a dangerous trend in my opinion.

My family is multi-racial. My OL is Laotian, and my step son is 1/2 Vietnamese. We make racial jokes all the time to and about each other. I think that is because we are all comfortable in who we are, and what we are. We don't do it to be hurtful of course, it's just the way our sense of humor works. And I for one am thankful for that. If there comes a time when someone decides to pick on the Boy because of his race, he will be able to laugh it off. Hell, I don't care if people want to make fun of short little red-headed Micks. That's what I am and I am comfortable in my own skin.

All this boils down to is people that are either a) not confident in themselves and their communities or b) people out to gain something, either money or fame, or both.

I for one am tired of it. All I can really do is teach my family better. Be proud of who you are and you heritage no matter what that might be. Doesn't mean I want them joining the Klan, but they sure as hell shouldn't feel guilty to be white, or 1/2 white for the twins.

Next time I hear some black guy say the word cracker, I'm calling CNN and complaining, or maybe I should try Fox News. I will protest at the top of my lungs and proclaim how deeply offended I am. I will be the Great White Hope. The Caucasian answer to Al and Jesse. I will demand that he be ostracized, and that he apologize to the entire white race.

Somehow I just don't think I will be taken seriously though. Just another crazy white cracker.

bahh it's a wrongful termination lawsuit waiting to happen... the thing that pisses me off the MOST is the fact that Al Sharptongue and jesse jacksleeze got involved... oh WAH WAH ... if you don't like what Imus says... don't listen to his frickin program... when I know the radio plays that hippidy hop rap music... I generally don't tune into that....

real simple...

p.s. after hearing the nappy headed hoes WHINE about how they're scarred for life.... I'd have to agree that They're more like nappy headed BITCHES instead...

Tim, Bob, you guys said so much about how I feel. Thank you for puting it into words for me.

Heh what do I know about racisim..............living in Hawaii, I'm just a haole..........but sometimes I get the bonus and I'm referred to as a "stupid haole" or my favorite "f#cking haole"!!!! After growing up in the south then moving here...............I have never witnessed so much attention to ones race. Maybe its because there are so many races here........

Personally, it doesnt bother me too much. Its usually ignorant people that are the most racist.

As far as Imus...........what an idiot. Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and all those goons.............f#cking parasites IMO!!!

Bob and Tim, great posts.......you hit the nail on the head.

Yeah, not much else to say than what has already been said... However,
the south (GA,SC) is the worst IMO... i lived there for 12 years and have
never seen such racisim in my entire life... From both sides... for example
i lived in a "retired" neighborhood during my stay and though out the 12 years
they had two black families i heard that one of the families was turned away
because the realtor upped the price by about 120k i believe the house was
around 210k. I personally think that whites in general have decided that
the past is the past while blacks seem to want to hold on to the past...

The world is changing and if you don't jump on the boat now prepare to be
left behind...

Tim I must say I especially enjoyed your subtle use of Ebonics during your initial post. I giggled my MF azz off. Educated yet thuggish… Well done.

IMHO it’s a friggen mess that will never be cleaned up. I’m considered minority but I don’t walk around looking for every little reason to point at whites and say they are prejudice. And if I do encounter someone who is obviously prejudice I blame the person or persons they may have encountered that made them feel as if all people of one kind are the same (that in itself is ignorant thinking anyway). Too many people say that they are judged because of their color when they are actually keeping themselves down with an obnoxious personality and demeanor. Also, I don’t particularly like certain groups being allowed to say this and that while others can’t. Blacks don’t have official exclusive rights to words like nigger, bitch and ho. For a race of people to claim ownership of words like that in the first place is beyond me. It’s pathetic and makes no damn sense.

This just supports my theory that many blacks are probably the most racial people in this country because it seems that’s all they think about. Develop a United White College Fund and there will be a million man march coming to a local city near you. Say nappy or the N word and one will flip without hesitation. Soon you’ll see an army of men in suits and bow ties protesting in a new camera as if they are holier than thou and without flaw. The nappy headed remark and N word were by no means created with the intent of putting down blacks. The word niggar is in the dictionary describing someone who is dirty or without a home or belongings. Where does that say black?

It is widely said that the Irish are the niggers of Europe yet I’ve never seen anyone from Ireland get heated after hearing someone blurt out the word. Meanwhile, most folks from Italy are dark skinned have kinky hair as well, yet you don’t see any Italians getting all twisted about Imus. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not backing the guy up. Like Tim mentioned earlier, what Imus said was indeed arrogant and stupid but that’s mainly because in his capacity he has the ability to reach millions and should know how to mind his tongue. He KNOWS how easy it is to offend blacks in this country. But he is probably among the many Americans that are fed up with the inequalities that go on today.

Why can’t we just have American leaders? Why black leaders? Why is black on black crime so upsetting to them? Is black on Hispanic crime or black on white crime more appealing? Any given race crime on ANY given race is equally upsetting. Jesse Blackson and Reverend Al should be ashamed of themselves. What steps are they taking to put an end to black on black crime anyway? They do nothing in society that is productive except instigate anger against others of different color. What they stand for allows young blacks to say, “I don’t never git a chance in society ‘cause Whitey is always keepin’ a brutha’ down.†I have a couple black friends that became millionaires on their own steam because they chose to get a good education and do something positive with it.

What I find sad is blacks aren’t born with this bad feeling of terms and slangs. They are taught by their very own “loved ones†to expect whites to be punished for events that took place hundreds of years ago (at least prior to the Civil War). They are taught early on to say “ain’t gonna†but can say the word oppression very well. My history books say that there were many whites that helped conceal and transport slaves to freedom. Yet that part isn’t appreciated. Feeling oppressed is a poor excuse for failing in life and wanting reparations for wrongs done against relatives hundreds of years ago is pathetic. Move on as a country. This attitude promotes the same principles of segregation.

And for the record? If the Rutgars womens basketball team is a bunch of nappy headed hos so what? Just be nappy and proud hos. If you’re unhappy with yourself then change.. Get a weave…

DAMN!!! Never expected that from you! I expected it from somebody WHITE!;) :p :p :p

Thank you for so eloquently saying what I was about to say! You are a good man to be so enlightened....Your way of thinking will take you very far I believe!

As for Racists, bigots, whiteys, krackers, whops, spics, niggas, ho's, and every other one of you racially challenged folks......Keep your head up and never look away from the fight. Doesn't matter who you are or where you came from, only matters what is inside your heart. And only those willing to give up hatred for love will make it the farthest in life!

Just my opinion....

Very well written, SilentD, OC Bob and Anthony. I believe that you guys represent the vast majority of people in this country concering this issue.

Prejudice and hate are learned traits so until we, as adults, can put our own misguided thoughts to the wayside, racism will continue to be passed on to our future generations.

I hate the fact that it will keep being perpetuated this way but it seems that some people just need others to blame for their self induced misfortune. :dontknow:

Sorry Guys, but this issue of racism will never go away,

I say this because there is to much money to be made by keeping it going.

It's way to easy to turn hate into cash. It seems to me that as long as people push the idea of racism in every event that can be made into a national story and create income by doing so. It will never end. I will not mention the names of those that I believe are behind this. But it is and will continue to be a multi-billion dollar business.

Racism is no long a manifested by a theory that a particular race is superior to others. It's manifested by a few individuals that want to make sure they can continue to live a lifestyle that is perceived "White".

But white has nothing to do with it. It's about MONEY and how to get it.

What Imus did was not racial, it was human. He tried to fit into the language of a particular group and was rejected solely because he is white. Was that racial..... No. Just not accepted. But then, Money, I see Money and I can make a lot of it by making it an issue of importance.

Keep your ears tuned. You will never see a minority broadcaster subjected to the same rules, there's no money in it

I hate rants, so I'm just going to stop.

Some of the best people I know are considered minorities. I'm happy and honored to be able to call them friends.

Not everything is a lawsuit, but it will continue to be as long as money is the defining reason for it

Sorry...

The most openly racists people I have ever met have been black...which is a little different from Jake's statement...that's my experience.

I have met a lot of people of lots of races that are incredibly racist but are not aware of it...I am often surprised at my own reactions to various stimuli, and personally embarrassed. I try to be tolerant and non-judgmental, but it is very difficult sometimes. I will continue to try and ask to be forgiven when I fail.

Admission: I had to work very hard as a CEO in a large health care organization to be even handed with employees who were morbidly obese. It was not fair, it was judgmental and stereotyping, to this day I regret some decisions I made based on my bias...but it was disgusting to me to see the physical state of many employees on the third shift in health care...sorry, we all discriminate in ways that hurt others. We shouldn't but we all do. All we can do is try to do better.

Sorry for the lecture...but I am after all
