Just wondering... I purchased an extended 50K/7 Year warranty on my new '06 RC and would like to "help" the exhaust note. Will a MagnaFlow Catback exhaust system void my warranty? If so, does Dodge make a similar system that could be installed by a dealer to make sure the warranty stays intact? :dontknow: Thanks...

ditto the others' comments.. i'm pretty sure that magna flow even states
that it will not void your warranty

Does someone have the link to the "will not void the factory warranty" info? That's all I need to jump. Also, who might have the best deal on a new system? What should I expect to pay? Woodhouse rocks.. but I'm 1,000 miles away so they won't be doing any of my warranty work. Thanks again!

The Mopar Connection a vendor on this site (rob) has it for $535 shipped. You can find it a few bucks cheaper on ebay but support a vendor if you can.

:withstupid: Robert is great to deal with!

Nope.. its called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act... states that a manufacturer can not void a warranty for putting on aftermarket parts, unless they can prove the aftermarket part caused the failure.

You can thank SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) for pushing hard on this to make it well known...

only an a@#clown service writter would deny you a warranty claim. 99% of the others will say no problem.

So why is it that tacking off your cats voids your warranty

It doesn't, no aftermarket parts void your warranty unless they are the cause for the malfunction....granted, I think taking off cats is a federal offense or at least against the law....

Let's say you gutted your cats and your AC stops working....well, cats have no impact and there is no way they can prove the cats hurt the AC....now, let's say you have the stock exhaust, remove your cats, and it ruins the muffler....well, they might very well have caused it, especially if there are no other returns on those mufflers....

AZpro mentioned the act earlier....the part must be the cause of the defect...

Exactly. Like my A/C system line failure... the Supercharger elbow rubbed a hole in the line and released the refridgerant so yeah.. that caused the failure.... so I am paying to have it fixed... but am making the correction so that it does not happen again, hense my warranty will cover a fix if if fails again no do the same issue.
