Yeppers! At least on the magnaflow cat backs  . Can't say for sure on the volant mine isn' t installed yet'500hp' said:i was wondering if i would feel a differce if i install a volant cai and a magnaflow catback plz help
Who is "we"? Forum members?Prof said:Some people say yes...but we cannot document a difference with a dyno.
I'm not sure I buy this, unless it's a CAI placed next to the headers.....which would make it an HAI.Prof said:In some instances CAI reduces the hp.

Mopar also offers a couple of CAI and ram air kits for the trucks. I doubt they would sell them if they *decreased* HP, especially for that kind of money.
Volant's site says "up to 36 HP". As we've found out on this forum, 10 dynos will get you 10 different numbers, so....
Max is 36.
Min is 0.
Average would be 18.
I don't understand how improving airflow to the throttle body would decrease horsepower. That's illogical.
Some light reading for everyone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_air_intake
The Magnaflow, however, is pretty easy to see (via dyno/eyes), feel (SOTP), and hear (ears/the guy behind you) the difference.
well i just wanna know if ill feel it under accelrationProf said:See Boomers comment above...is that "we" good enough? I'm just an old fart that listens to Boomer and DC Performance. But I am wrong a lot! Just ask all of my wives!

Fantastic pun!Prof said:PM Marc T...I think he has volant...he will give you the straight scoop.

I'm not trying to start anything. Just curious how HP can go down by increasing airflow. Unless there were other changes to the vehicle or the testing environment, there's something wrong with that.
I listen to Boomer and the DC guys as well. I'd just like an explanation of their results (and how their testing was performed, if they want to spill it).
Fantastic pun!
Several times I have heard people opine...that Chrysler just got the air flow right for this particular application...sometimes the engineers do it right!
BACK ON TOPIC:
Any CAI probably won't pin you to the back of the seat any harder than the stock airbox.
Unintended! But I will take the credit anyway!
You will probably be able to feel a healthier jump with the Magnaflow.

With the Mopar CAI at $750, the Volant looks like a deal.03-DSG-SVT said:Hmmm I always thought that Volant costs wayyy too much for a CAI...You'd be better off finding one cheaper.
