Our calipers and rotors weigh a ton. If we could simply replace them with 1/2 ton units we could then use smaller front wheels and a front runner type tire (for racing purposes) Does anyone know if the spindles will fit our A-Frames or if you could replace the entire assembly from the frame out?

I thought the frame mounts were the same?

WHY!!!!!!! lol
If you could replace the front end parts with standard stuff and 15" racing tires and wheels you could easily take 300 lbs. off the front of the truck!!!(For Racing Only)

Weight reduction...the next big mod thrill.....things are gonna turn mean..LOL..:D

jack even with hemi brakes the smallest rim you can get on there i think might be a 16"... possibly i dont even think you could...

Front runner tires are only offered in 15"

You already know about the adapters. im talking with a local rim manufacture
who is gonna make a steel 15x5 with 0 backspace. Then you can just run a 1 or 1.5" aluminum adapter.

2 rims and 2 adapters for 200 bucks + shipping

wont have a demo till mid jan

Complete swap would work, the smallest wheel after shaving the rear caliper is a 16. I do not believe anyone has tried a smaller than a 16 inch wheel. Well one guy did use a 15 with no break assembly on the rear.

Your not losing 300lbs of the truck with just 15" wheels and standard 1500 parts (breaks). Stock spindles weigh 24 lbs a arms would weigh the about the same or within a pound of the srt a arms.

why not use a spare tire donut off a Lincoln towncar? that should be light enough.

try it wise guy and let us know the result. while ur at it try a wheel off a bicycle

While i was under there puttin some stinker springs in i noticed the hubs are splined through the middle like a 4 wheel drive ( for the haft shalt) so are they using the hubs from a 4X4 or the whole spindle

Same on both side and i have checked other trucks!!! The hub bearing bolts to the spindle its a seperate piece with the abs speed sensor.. its very poss the use the same for all 1500.. No accidents went through the car myself
