I wanted to know if any of you might know where I could be window tint by the roll to install on the window in my house. I need approximately a roll that is 36" by 125' to cover all my windows. I've contacted a few local retailer and the prices they are quoting me are ridiculous.

I wonder if Stinkers spray on stuff will work?

Tinting is not hard to do on flat glass, so if i were doing it again i would just find a local tint shop that will sell you a new roll of tint. Or is that what you said?
What shade of tint are you looking for?

Remember, auto tint is different than home tint. Auto tint can cause thermo-unit windows to crack.

Bill.

That would be cool all of the windows in the house break at the same time but a real expensive lesson :D

Good call Begood :congrats:

This is just one manufactures does and donts.
  • Do not install any film on any double pane (thermal insulated) window larger than 40 square feet in size.
  • If your windows are single pane, you may choose any film you wish, as long as the window is less than 100 square feet in size. Do not install any film if the glass is larger.
  • Do not do a "partial installation" on any single window. Tint the entire window, or not at all. If you do, the uneven heating can cause the window to crack.

60 -100 will get you the 36" but only 100' in the shade of your choice.

I'm looking for Neutral or Charcoal with just a little bit of reflective. I'm looking for either 35% or 20% tint. Let me know if this is something you can get.

Will do. Tried to use the mirror tint for mine but it was a no go because the deed restrictions. I can use black which would stick out like a sore thumb but nothing that would blend in:dontknow:

Yup,Lowes or Home Depot !!The have what is close to a 6mil vinyl that we put on all of our windows !! Goes on with just water !! If you decided to move, you could realistically peel it off and take it to your new place !!!Darkens the house up a bit,but it also adds some protection from braking glass !!!

Yeah, I've seen them in home depot and lowes too, but they are very expensive.

:D look into solar screens ,,my homeowners wont let you do any tinting but you can install solar screens that block a good amount of sun ,,,and look damn good with older windows ,,,like mine that are 20 years old at leasts,:D ,,,

Go online to the USPS web page and submit a fake change of address form. Just pick either an old address or one of your buddies and change it to your current address. You will get 10% off coupons from Lowes.

I have the stuff from Home Depot at my office/warehouse. Works great. Kinda pricey but the difference it makes in cutting down the heat is worth it. AC doesnt have to work as hard.
