wing help

i installed my tonneau cover today, and now the wing wont fit and even though it looks good with out it an srt10 its not an srt10 with out the almighty wing :rock:

so my question is can i shorten it to fit or should i just look for one that works with the cover .

any info will be appreciated thanks

Mine was cut down to fit and then painted. The body shop people stated that there will be a chance that the split will show over time.

I would look at maybe getting a 3 pillar wing like the ones that come already with the tonneau's.

The only other thing is FatJack has an aftermarket wing with his aftermarket bedcover. You might want to check with him :dontknow:

so you installed an aftermarket cover?

some members have cut the wings but i really dont think you should do that because of the downforce on the wing is strong enough to weeken it after it has been cut.

I bought my cover from Mutt which was an aftermarket cover with a wing that was already cut down to size. You could see the split in the wing and when I had the bed cover repainted, I had them rework the wing. The body shop said they could not guarantee the wing will last.

I just wonder if the stock 3 pillar wing would fit on my bedcover

Just got mine done last week...What kind of cover did you get...The body shop were i went cut the wing in the middle but overlapped the cut and with the products we have available today says he was 90% positive it wont split overtime...He epoxied inside and outside he used something that took 3 days to cure...I havent got any pictures yet it's been raining ever since...Good luck on your search for the wing install...

Dodge made two wings. One for tonneau application and one for non tonneau applications. The one for tonneau applications should not need modifying. I have both wings. I would think it would be cheaper to buy the tonneau wing. Mine came painted from Dodge.

What kind of cover did you get

i bought it used but in new condition, the lady that i got it from said it came factory installed on her ctd but removed it to tow trailer home with a goose neck so she had no use for it and since it was 250 bucks and silver i figure it was a good deal
