Is the wing that goes on the bed cover the same length as the wing without the cover?:dontknow:

yep they are a different size...PM patrick (dragon) he put a cover on his 05 and went thru the same thing

Anyone have the measurements on the length of a bedcover wing?

Hey Paul,I had that wing shortened.The wing is 2 or so inches shorter.You just have to have that one fiberglassed over and repaint.The guy that did it took the piece that he removed and used it like a sleeve between the two halves(the damn thing is like foam filled...not solid at all).We did not know at the time if it would not be strong enough.He was going to glass it for me but I traded my srt in for the viper soon after....so Mutt got the cover from me originally.

I wonder if the factory 3 post wing will fit on it. I know it has a lock on the cover about where the middle post would go so I don't know until I can look at an existing 3 post wing.

I thought the wing is the same. At least I know mine can be removed from the bed cover and put on the bed with no modifications. Maybe 06's are different?

I just dropped my new wing off at the body shop with my tonue cover on saturday to be fitted. It is only a bit to big to fit on the cover but I will let you know how they make it work.

My 05 wing would not fit on most tonneau covers. I did not want to "modify' the wing so I asked around and found a Snugtop tonneau and the wing fits nicely. The snugtop cover hangs over the bed sides and gives that extra length needed to fit the wing on top. But, If you have already settled with your cover then you will have to shorten the wing. No idea bout the 06s

It is 63 1 /2" from outside edges. From the looks of it with no hard cover it would bareley touch both sides. Hope i could help.:rock:

06's come with a factory cover and a shorter wing. Barry did a post, with pictures when he shorten his wing.

Yes please keep us informed on what the body shop decided to do...Pics would be much appreciated...When i take out mine plan on having wing installed also...(got to get rid of 10' of snow first)Anyhow...

Wow, I had no idea it was that small. I just went out and measured mine and it was around the 67" mark... Now I wanna find a picture of one from the rear to see how far in it looks.
