Winterizing

It is starting to get cold up here so I went to the local Dodge dealer to see if they were Viper Techs. They tell me they service 3 vipers and should be able to help me. I asked them what I should do to store the truck in the garage for the winter and they suggested a radiator flush, full tank of gas and some stabil. There are plenty of guys who put them up for the winter, what is the regiment you use to keep them happy in the garage. I have my battery tender ready to go but thats it

That is pretty much it. You could also put more air in the tires to avoid flat spots. Which are temporary if you get them. Drive a few miles and the tires will be round again. I also start mine about once a week to move the fluids around. Get a oil change. I would not worry about flushing the radiator fluid. But I would check to make sure it is in good condition.

My Dad in Michigan has a 32 and 34 Model A that he restored. He always put Fuel Stabilizer in, Parks the cars on 2 x 10's, Trickle charger, and covers them up. I can't remember but I think he sprayed his wheels with and tires with something too.

Probably sprayed WD-40 or something like that on the wheels. I think it is supposed to add some protection against rust or something along those lines. But I can't remember for sure.

This will be my 5th winter with my SRT-10, and that is what I have done every winter.

Yeah,I'm Winterizing too,I open the windows while I'm driving now !!!Sure sux to be you guys that have to put the toy away for the Winter !!! But then you all would chitt driving your trucks through all sorts of wet weather too !!!

No, you can unhook the battery. But it will still drain slowly unless you hook a Battery Tender to it.

my thing for winterizing here is to fill truck up and drive like i always do ,,,oy it almost never gets below 40 here hahahahaha:rock:
