This is somewhat of a different subject, my Sister who has an infant and a 2yo is a stay at home mom and would like to find something she can do from home via computer. My brother-in-law is an engineer for a rail road company up in NE and is gone 2-4 days a week.

They are just starting out and she would like to find something she could do from home when time allows. I went up this weekend and took them up a spare laptop I had, got their wireless network and DSL service configured and working, so she could do something a few hours a day.

Do any of you know of any legit opportunities for this type of situation? There are tons of get rich quick schemes, work from home advertisement out there but it seems like they are all not what they advertise. I've done a few searches for "work at home" opportunities and you get thousands of hits.

She would just like to make some extra money as they are saving for a new house. Anyone know of such a thing or know of someone who might be doing something similar? If it requires a small investment that is OK if it will pay for itself in the long run. I can help them with any start-up fee's they might need to pay.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

If she has great typing skills,I'm sure there are a number of Employers that would work something out with her !!! Don't ask me where, but I know I've heard of these very situations a number of times !!!Good luck to her !!!

Thanks Dennis, I'm sure there are, we just have to find them!

Medical transcription is an option if she has the typing skills. Also and this is a joke but internet porn is always a lucrative venture, just ask Silverback :D

Just be carefull of all the scams and get rich quick schemes....Medical Transcriptionists,,,,,Insurance under -writing (GMAC May still do it) 100k a year possible).....medical field seems to be the biggest I have heard of for home jobs----good luck ----

yeah i know i have been even trying to find a decent at home job but its hard to wade throught he 50 billion get rich quick scams i havent found anything decent yet myself been looking into met life heard they actually let people process claims from home. :)

Just seems that data entry is something that most organizations need.

Would she be willing to do collections? Some of those companies allow people to work from home...but not very fun work.

Great topic, if someone has some knowledge about this post it up!

I have seen several new opportunities in the "Virtual Administrative Assistant" area. You work form home, and answer phones etc. for a few small businesses. Not huge $$ but not bad either.

Thanks for all the suggestions and PM's, I will pass the information along. If there is anymore that you know of, post it up!

This is actually a good opportunity. My sister does this for some of the local hospital's. You can make good money at it if you are at it all day, but it is also good for saving upsome money as well. Just depends on how many transcripts she does a day.
