working at home

Work from home as well as a financial analyst for a healthcare company. Been doing it for the past year and enjoy it. It was a no brainer since I negotiated a raise by changing companies and I save alot of money by not commuting, no work clothes and food is cheaper. You have to be disciplined and avoid distractions during the day, like this site. :)

It's not for everyone as it can be a bit isolated since you don't have face to face interactions like a normal work setting. For me personally it was a great move because my previous job was sucking the life out of me at work and during my so called personal time. No work/life balance. Plus the added benefit was I was able to justify buying the truck since I don't have a daily commute. :burnout:

I work from home, but have to go out in 'the field' from time to time...so kinda the best of both worlds.

I have yet to see a real Internet 'work from home'..they all seem like scams. If they say "Make 1 million in 2 months" then they are full of it lol...

I used to work from home, except I never got any work done. Now I go into the office and at least feel like I'm working when I don't get anything done :dontknow:

I work from anywhere (blackberry) but it usually tends to be home. My job is overseeing a successful chain of 15 stores. As long as the stores are making money, all is right with the world. It's a damn good gig because I run a damn tight ship. If you run a tight ship you can sit back and enjoy the ride.

Chris what stores?

I work from home and the office since I own my company.

The one thing I have run into a lot is people that work on the telecom industry that work for a company in CA but live in VA. As long as you can get trained in the IP phone industry you might be able to work anywhere you want.

I know three people that live in Virginia and work for companies in CA that install phone systems over the internet. Don't waste your time with the work form home Internet people because you are going to be sending out emails all the time, which most will be marked as spam.

Just my .02.
