This is IMO the ultimate example of the phrase that goes something like, "Those that forget history are bound to repeat it".

It is surreal to me, the number of alleged highly educated people that are

not aware of this fact,(including our own politicians) nor possess the intellect to see the danger in ,"Mob Rule."

It kind of proves the quote,' Education is no guarantee of intelligence.'

If we asked people on the street in any major city (say, New York's Time Square at lunch time).... I would be willing to bet 60-80% wouldn't even know what a "Republic" was. Maybe some would say "does it have something to do with Star Wars?". Others might say it is the government of the Soviets. :dontknow:

...... sad, really.

I would also be willing to bet those 60-80% would say our government is a DEMOCRACY.

On one of the news channels yesterday there was a report that was spot on this subject.
They displayed the current History books being used to teach children in public school.

Not one word is mentioned about the sayings or principles this country was founded upon, and the only quotes are from some foreign person who had nothing to do with the founding of our country.

Based on that video, wouldn't you say we are in the Democracy stage of becoming an Oligarchy? So maybe those calling our Government a Democracy are more correct than you think. Unfortunately.....
