Just got layed off, got about 45 min. into my 6 1/2 hour, in normal driving conditions, drive home. It's freezing rain, so very slow go, and now I'm stuck in trafic on I64 outside of Ashland KY. We run up on what the trucker in front of me says is 10 car crash. Don't know any details, just that as we sit here the road is becoming a solid sheet of ice.

Just wanted to tell everyone to be safe!!

is that near the state line? i used to go to ashland, if ya can give me a mile marker I may be able to get you thru the back roads?

most def, if its where i am thinking its outside charleston va, and some real bad roads thru there in the winter
 
if you can get to HWY 52 I think it is or hwy 23 , but I think 52, it will take you to bluefield va if thats the way you are going, let me knw and I'll be glad to look at it.
 
Sorry to hear you got layed off. be safe and hope you can still have a good christmas and hopefully a better new year.
 
I just got out of the truck and nearly busted my ass. I think we are just going to call it a night when the wreck is cleared. My poor cheby can't go on this stuff. Also just found out that 10 miles ahead there's another crash, and a few buddies have called and said there are wrecks all the way home.

Stinker yes it near the line, I figured 60 would be the second best shot, but the guy in the truck said he's talked to a couple guys on the radio, who say most of the back road have the same problems. I do thank you though hoss!
 
OH! so youare headed west, uh , yeah bud, take a bed for the night, those truckers know mosst of the backroads, and going west there is no real "good" way, and like he said most of them wil be cloged up.

but anytime bo, jsut be safe,

if you can make it tooooooooooooooooo, crap!

there isnt much on further west:dontknow:

if you can get to the ashland exit, run north, there is a couple places up thru there, but try not to go too much past hte plant, not too many past there:)

Oh no, it's not what you think I work for many diferent contractors, and when the job is complete we get laid off, and wait for the hall to call us with another job. It's realy pretty sweet I'm gonna get to spend some time with my family. I've only been home 8 days since September 4th, and only had 11 days off in that period. I should go back to work in the middle of jan. I do appreciat your concern though.

And stink I'm heading west to la casa. But I don't think I'll make it tonight.

Right on Work Union, Live Better. Be safe that ice is deadly and enjoy the time off on this holiday season:rock: :rock: :D
 
DAMN Travis I was gonna say to hell with the shipping you owe......................but it's the good kind of layed off, so you still owe me beatch! :) LOL I almost felt sorry for you ;)

Right on, best part time job I've ever had.:D we're still sitting. The temp is suposed to start rising around 7 and be back up to 40 by midnight so well see what happens and how we fell by then?

That's sweet of ya but I just called my buddy he's on his way home and you should have it in the next hour. Thanks though!

Stink looks like I need the nearest beer store the trucker just said they are shuting the roads down for 5 hrs putting the state in a state of emergancy.

Ashland is a dry county, maybe we can make it to Moorehead. It's a colage town I know they've got beer. How would you like to find a woman that went to moorehead university. Sounds like good times!
