Looking for an inexpensive set of 05/06 valve covers. Thanks for any help guys.

I have a set that I stripped all the paint of and started to paint myself but didn't like how they turned out. Let me know if your interested.

they would look good with a good polish job, red Viper & a good hi temp clear powder coat

I tried that but the polish will only last a few days. I was told that the covers are not made out of aluminum, and that was why they would not stay polished.

been told they are magnesium.

might be careful around fire if that is true

That's what I was told as well. They will polish up real nice but in a few days they will dull up. I tried doing the polish and then clear coating, but that didn't seem to work either.

:( :( :(

wonder if Justin has any experience with polished/powder coat on these.

they would look close to sheet metal valve covers. that would be sweet

I was thinking of doing them in black chrome, but I need a set of 04 to do.

ya like that PermaStar "black chrome"???

& ya could always go with an EED breather system:rock:

Our valve covers are the same as the Gen 3 viper cars right? How much do covers usually go for? Iv'e been looking for a set...

If you polish them and then ZOOPSEAL them they should retain their polish. The Zoopseal "Seals" the metal's pores and stops the "oxidation" process. It will only last about a year on good quality magnesium though.
