I replaced my mids with JMBs mids with no cats, nice by the way, and the damn bolts that go from the manifolds to the mids keep coming loose. I have to crawl under my truck at least twice a month to tighten them up. Winter is coming around and I will be damn if I'm going to crawl under the truck in freezing weather to tighten them . What kind of hardware setup are you guys using to bolt your mids to the stock manifolds? I've tried lock washers and am using stainless hardware. HELP!!!:D

Good question. I just used the ones supplied with Boomers mids. Not sure what they were. Maybe use some blue locktite on em?:dontknow:

Call Justin, I am sure he has the answer.

How do you like em? How was the diff. in sound and power???

I felt an instant pedal sensitivity with the throttle after install. Truck felt a little stronger overall but the real difference came when I then installed the DC Perf computor.

Sound? Hahahaha, way deeper and louder!!!! For sure my neighbors hear me everytime I come and go!!:D

The install was a bitc* but the reward was worth it. The truck sounds like a damn nascar at WOT. Seat of the pants meter says there is a power increase. The only ongoing pain in the arse is the damn hardware that holds the pipes to the manifold. I tried to use loctite but the temp of the pipes weakens the compound. I used the high temp red version and still no luck. If you like it loud and I mean loud then these are the way to go. If you want to keep the tone down keep the stockers with the CAT's. I can't speak for the high flow CAT version I'm sure there is some noise reduction but I can't imagine much.

Another solution that nobody wants to hear is use the original hardware. Yep those dreaded tabs that everyone fought with to get off, just buy six from your dealer (less than $10 I think) and slap them in with the original bolts. You won't have to worry about retightening. Now taking them off again in case you need to change out the mids for inspection is a replay of the intial nightmare of getting them off.

I had the same problem. I retightened mine several times. Last time, I recentered the flange. Then I gorrilla torqued it. I had blue loctite on it.

I first thought they were getting loose. But I believe that the fasteners stretched with the heat cycles. Now I have them tight enough that the flange acts like a tension spring tacking up slack.

dont use off the shelf stainless, they are soft, and will stretch from the load and heat.
the easiest thing for you to do , is get grade 8 bolts, and use 2 nuts per bolt. tighten the first one, then tighten the second one against it, and jam them together
make sure you have a washer under the head of the bolt and under the first nut, so it can get proper torque. apply antisieze to the threads before you put it all together
