Never had a B&M so I don't know.It makes more noise than stock,though.
Can't hear it over the radio/CD at all.

Matt......the Gen IV is slightly louder than the B&M but shifts as well IMO...

the b&m is great fro the track but for a daily driver:dontknow: so I am just swapping out the stock and b&m when I go to the track.
