is it just mine or are all these shifters extremely loud? i think it the second to newest one other than that the thing is sweet maybe i need t retorque it! any thoughts?
thanksBlack1 said:Nope.... They are just loud.... It's all metal in there (no nylon and shit)....
It is transferring the harmonics coming from the transmission to the cab. It's the price you have to pay for ultimate performance.:burnout:
so, the metal flat washers that come with the gen4 -- replace them with nylon ones, will make that much difference ??:dontknow:eddie102870 said:you can find those washers at autozone pep boys and the like or a body shop would have some they would probably give you.

so boomer.... is it possible to sell us just the composite washers for us guys that already have the gen4 ??BOOMER said:if you have one of our later shifters with the Jedi lever, it should have composite washers that go between the shift arm, and the shifter base's arm, and composite washers under the steel washers for the bottom 2 bolts.
so it goes: bolt, steel washer, composite washer, then lever, composite washer, shifter base arm.
with it setup right, you wont hardly have any harmonics at all.
also change the stock tranny fluid to either redline or royal purple synthetic 75w90. DO NOT use ATF
i though it was one of the later shifters ...but all i have are 4 steel washers to bolt it down ...ill pull it out and take pics give me 15 minBOOMER said:if you have one of our later shifters with the Jedi lever, it should have composite washers that go between the shift arm, and the shifter base's arm, and composite washers under the steel washers for the bottom 2 bolts.

Did you remember to pull your ear plugs Roy??Prof said:I just put on Boomers Jedi shift lever...it comes with plastic washers...and reduced the sound from the Gen IV shifter by 80 or 90%...call Boomer.
