Try this. 1st you need to align the shifter - Loosen (a little bit enough for the shifter to move a bit) all 4 shifter base bolts. Then run through the gears making sure you go into all gears smoothly. Then come back into 3rd and tighten the snot out of the bolts. Then run through all gears again making sure the shifter goes in smoothly into each and every gear. 2nd you will need to short shift into 3rd. Shifting at 5200-5500. This should take care of your problem.
