Me too, that is the gear we (you and I) will need not to have to shift into 5th on a 1/4 mile track.

Don't try this without 1000+ RWHP.

I drove Ironheads truck to "town" and back from the track and I have to say the 4.88's are the way to go !!!!!!

I am even considering changing my 4.56's to 4.88's now !! YES, THEY ARE THAT GOOD !!!!!!!!

A truck/ 4x4 specialty shop near Harrisonburg,VA ...Dale Engineering
(dealership screwed me last time on the 4.56's $700   )

This time it was $340 :)

Took him from 8:30 am until 5 pm ,with a lunch break

I drove it all the way home ,40 miles ,varying the speed and rpms and going through the gears

It was waaaaaaay too late to stop at 20 miles and let it cool for 45 minutes

I doubt that will hurt it any

OK so all the parts from Stink are about $500 or a little less, what is an average install cost $340 or $700. Would love to do this but need to know how much to save

Break em in properly Nelson. Follow the sheet Unitrax supplied you.

If you dont like to shift then dont do this mod, but if you like to have that ole school muscle car feel with massive amounts of power available with the goose of the throttle, then this is your mod. Truck truly feels 1000 lbs lighter. Parking lots and stop n go traffic is quite improved as well.

Cant wait to hear your impressions when broken in Nelson.

It should NOT have cost $700 on my first install

Should run from $350 to $500 (might be smart to get a written estimate)

Just be sure it is done at a shop that is experienced
