Convince me to buy one.......

The best thing about the SRT-10 IMO is the looks and it is rare. On a daily basis how many SRT-10's do people see on the road? Zero is probably the average number. 3057 made in 2004, Less then 10K made in 05 and 06. I see Lightnings and SS's daily. Same with SRT-8's. It is rare for me to see a SRT-10 on the road. Some people have never actually seen one. Yes I can mod other vehicles for less and even go faster. But I want the whole package. Stock 500 watt stereo system, Bluetooth, Nav system, Big ass brakes, etc. There are lots of trucks and cars out there that are faster than mine, but that is the problem. There are LOTS!!!!!!

hahaha, great analogy...I'm gonna like it here!

NO, f word here, Ford blows! yuck...I feel dirty now

OK
I love these trucks but leave my Mazda out of it. I agree the 13B is not all that impressive, but with the way people spend money on their trucks in here...if you were to throw a 20B is my RX8 which has been done plenty you will put 700 to the wheels and have a hell of a time keeping the thing on the road. I am glad you qualified the statement with the fact there are many ways to turn a quick quarter and added the rotary first. I love my rotary and will be sad to a point when I lose it for my SRT10....I Imagine the pain will go away the first time I actually feel some torque!!!!!

If your in the market Bikerat's truck is the way to go. Specially that you will only be putting 3k miles a year. The truck has everything you will ever need as for as modding is concerned. If I were in the market for one I would buy his and red is not my cup of tea, but in your case its between the red and black. You couldn't buy a truck and mod it to this degree for the amount he's asking for. Of course I would have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to make sure everything mechanically sound.

Every where I go heads turn. First thing that makes their heads turn is the sweet blower whine (sounds like a jet engine taxiing down a runway), then they actually get a look and they start tapping their friends and pointing, and last here that exotic car exhaust. Everyone talks about how sweet big V8's sound, but to me there is nothing sweeter sounding than an exotic ferrari V8, lambo V10 & V12, and of course viper V10. I have never owned any car that have made heads turn like this one does. I drive mine daily and proud of it. Going down the street where I live all my neighbors waive hello as I pass by, and set off their car alarms. You have to own one to understand. These are limited production vehicles and getting more rare by the minute. Good luck on what ever you choose.

If this doesn't convince you nothing will.

Many have plenty of respect for the lightning and its abilities. It just doesnt deliver the entire package. The 10 destroys the lightning in looks interior and exterior, has the shock and awe factor, and is truly a different truck than the standard 1500. You cant say that about the lightning...you could drive by one and think you saw an old F150

You know it James ---just remember the ride you took at brats GTG ----The look on your face was priceless hahahaha.....
I vote for the fastest color --Black--I bought mine just because I had no Idea that these trucks exsisted... I was looking for a Hemi truck and stumbled across the almighty Ram SRT10.....Took it for a test drive --Hit the gas pedal to the floor and wrote them a check.....

LOL
Probably simalar to the people on that bungie ride when they slingshot you in the air. Mickey Rocks

I'd still take a Mopar V8 block sound and anyday of the week. V8s are a mans best friend, any true blooded male loves the sound of a V8, just part of his chromozomes. I love my SRT/10 but the sound will never give me that V8 rumble satisfaction. Ever.

Demon 8 - You won't regret selling your Mazda. I can't stand rotaries. Loud weedwackers. The engines are small and weigh very little, that's their secret to decent performance, power to weight. They can rev high as too, so, obviously that helps. Still, that sound just sounds like absolute ass. Sorry.

:dontknow: I like the way it sounds LOL
I will like a V10 better but love my little blue speedbump.

these trucks are money pits, if ya like your credit.........stay away from them..........

My credit is over 720 and would love to keep it there.
Damn I thought y'all wanted more members....with trucks!
You guys are making it hard for me to pull the trigger on the silver RC just posted

sorry Demon, I am in super dick mode today, its probably best I dont post, I usually say what I feel and thats usually not good.......

the trucks are a ton of fun, but play it smart, if ya go moddin, for gods sake dont try to get the extra ten ponies, or another 100 hp..........just do some simple mods and be happy....

once you go to far, it becomes more of a headache than anything, you will eventually replace a $10,000 engine.

these engines came from the factory maxed out .......almost....and can take very little high pressure......yes namely the pistons.......some want to say they are defective and dodge should replace them ...........not gonnna comment on that....

but all in all , if ya stay relatively mildly modded, they are more fun than a pocket full of viagra at the playboy mansion.....

but this is also why mine never gets driven, at 800 plus too the ground......something breaks allmost every time...........

so stay mild, ,the truck will absolutly drive you wild.........

So do people feel safe with headers and a tuner as in the silver RC up for sale or is that already pushing the limits here

Nothing on any recreational vehicle should be on credit. Pay cash to play...it is expensive enough with out adding interest. Save, and pay as you go...everything about these trucks should be from disposable cash...

As a matter of fact I will go a step further...set as a goal that everything about your vehicles should be on a cash basis...purchase, maintenance and modifications. The savings over twenty or thirty years is huge.

I often disagree with Tony (when I can read what he has said)...but he is so dead on with this comment. I will go to the extreme...a old member here once said to me: "Roy just don't race your truck, it runs good and it can do that well for a long time if you don't push it..." that was 1fast400's most insightful comment in my opinion.

A few light mods for a little extra good sound and a little better performance...exhaust mods, maybe a cpu flash...Caltraks...and be happy.

I love what my truck has become...but I have a very generous wife.

I have just sold my previous love...convince me to buy an SRT-10!

Note my daily driver is a 2008 SRT-8 Jeep…so fun is had everyday! :)

Black or Red?

Thanks!

Vince :D

Vince,

If your D/D is a Jeep SRT, you already got it pretty dicked. :top:

As far as the SRT-10 goes (and I'm a QC/Family Guy) you just need to test drive one. I was NOT looking for one, at all, and was at the dealer to look at a Ram 3500 Mega Cab Dually (which I still need to get...but that's another story) and saw they had 2 SRTs, an RC and QC. With the family the SC wasn't an option, but I loved the look of it, like a Lightning's older brother on the juice. I took two test rides; one with just the salesman and the other with him and my girls in it. That was enough for me (and them) to know that it was a good decision. This a third vehicle/emergency-back-up tow vehicle for us so I didn't want to go too crazy.

I paid cash, which makes a difference, and the market for these trucks (and anything else that isn't a fuggin' hybrid/green mobile) is really soft. I ground the crap outta the dealer and unless they gave the guy who traded it in like $18K, I'm pretty sure they just squeaked out of it.

Color? Mine is black, just like my Jeep SRT was. It's my favorite color and can look like absolute shit in minutes after spending the better part of the day detailing it...especially with pollen and what not. The inferno red is a sick ass color for sure...

Good luck!

Matty

These trucks honestly kick A$$! I get endless compliments about my truck every time I drive it,BUT if your looking for twisted necks your looking at the wrong two colours!! Snap necks go YF!!
