What kind of horror stories? Everything I have read says that are great. You have to be careful around small animals and cats if the dog has a high prey drive and needs to be kept on a leash. Other than that I haven't heard anything bad.

They really can make wonderful pets...... They're very gentle animals.

I have a few friends that have rescued greyhounds, they have no problems with them at all.
