Radar Detector

Most of us have one. "Don't leave home without it. Most like the Valentine 1. It has arrows that show where the signal is coming from. Once you use it, a regular radar detector that just beeps doesn't cut it.

V-1 for me as well...hard wired, plus a second one that I just rec. my cig adapter from Eddie....thanks again Edward

V-1 here also. Like the American Express, card don't leave home without it. :D

I also like the V-1, its a excellent high rated unit!!
but I dont like how big and honking it is... its hard to hide.. I prefer my remote mount unit.. no one knows that I have it!! Why advertise to the law that you have a fast truck, AND have a radar detector.

V1 For me as well Local Cops use Kmart, Wallyworld and etc as places to hide because every other radar doesn't have a bogey counter and that comes in handy, and same with the Arrows. The Nice thing about the V1 is you can get them updated.

Valentine 1 is the best..... MANY years running, now. :dontknow:

I have an Escort 8500 and have had NO problems, however. :) I had a K40... and it POOPED-OUT. :dontknow:

STAY VERY FAR away from the Rocky Mountain Radar's! I had one that started smoking in my 96 Camaro Z28 (car I traded in for the truck) and now some where it's in a couple 1000 pieces on the side of the highway. I threw it out the window going about 80 mph when I smell a nice odor of burning wires. GO WITH THE V1!!!!!

Most of my customers are more than satisfied with the Passport 8500......available in BLUE or RED displays. We even sell an optional hard-wire kit that will relocate the mute button where it is easily accessible from a comfortable sitting position. I'll see in Venom Power can post a couple of pics.....I'm at work.....:(

Yeah... The BLUE is $50 more than the Red... :dontknow:

I would, however, be interested in the Hard-Wire kit.

Jake I sell the 8500 Blue for thirty-bucks more. The blue LED dispaly is said to be easier on the eyes. That is the only justification for us paying more....:dontknow:

PM me if you need a h/w kit......:D

V-1. Notice the period at the end.

Best radar detector overall.Three models co-exist as the top radar detector in reviews. In addition to the Escort Passport 8500 X50, the Bel Pro RX65 and Valentine One also receive the highest scores in reviews. But the Bel Pro is only available in high-end auto electronics stores, and the Valentine One costs $100 more. The Escort radar detector sniffs out X, K and Ka-band radar guns from at least two miles away, and is especially good at tracking Ka-band guns in dangerous POP mode. Although the Valentine One is better at detecting laser guns, reviews say this aspect is of dubious value, since by the time the alarm sounds, it's already too late to avoid a ticket.

Best laser detection. The Valentine One took a lot of criticism in last year's reviews for its inability to detect radar guns in POP mode, which operates in hard-to-detect spurts. But Valentine has now added this feature, and aside from a high rate of false alarms, reviews say it works very well. The Valentine One is also great at detecting beams from laser speed guns, but once a laser has locked onto your vehicle, it's generally too late to avoid a ticket. Although the Valentine One is an excellent all-around radar detector, some reviews say its design and features are behind the times, and that it is too expensive, especially when the Escort Passport 8500 X50 is just as effective.

The Blue Diode costs more, seriously, don't ask me how I know that. lol

We have POP in GA, and the V-1 is detecting it. Never had a false alarm.

SR7 all the way! Jams lazers (really truly works), and detects all bands from way far away. Totaly hidin install makes encounters with cops nice... the only down side? retail is 1800, but you can hit ebay and get a good deal. I am copying some here and I will be adding the v-1 soon...

The Bell STI driver was rated the best one and ONLY one that is un detectable if you live in or drive through states that they are illegal in, same price as the V-1 and was rated at picking up radar from a record distance of 12 miles away. All my buddies have the V-1 but I decided to give the Bell a try.
