Does anyone know of any Good Deals on 2 Pirelliies. I need to replace two worn out ones(53000 miles on them) and so far I'm seeing about $300. a piece. Last year I paid arount $185 each for 2.
Thanks,

Why would you want to put those stinking tires on the truck, there's much better tires out there for a lot less. Yokahama Prada is a much better choice.

Ya that's what I would do . Get yokahama of Gforce. And with does tires what u gat now just make a smoke show ... Lol

The pradas are great and wear really well. If u r looking for great traction and not worried about how fast they wear then the bfg's are the wat to go! You can find the bfg's for around 250 . The pradas you can buy 4 for around 750. I run the pradas on the qc hemi and they are great and run the bfg's on the srt10.

Hey bud how has the truck been running? I'm sure night and day difference after you took it to Doug to work his magic. I saw it there when he was working on it. The headers came out SUPER nice!

I'd rather not discuss the issue. Ran stronger before and a lot less heat in the engine bay.

Yeah Alex, the Doug thing didnt work out to well for Joe. Doug may be the best at what he does, cant argue that. But $10,000 for the headers? He got butt raped and bad, no matter how you look at it.

Steve,

Not to start up an arguement here, but I'm sure that Doug was up front with the cost of doing the headers as he did with me when he did my build. Joe could have easily said "No". I personally saw the "Hennessey" exhaust mainfolds that Joe had on the truck originally, and they were literally "CRAP". The welds were cracked and the flanges for the turbos were a joke. Doug built him some bad ass headers, and advised Joe to coat them but he decided against it. At the very least he should have wrapped them. Maybe that is what's causing the the heat issues.

As far as tuners and builders go, none like to work on someone else vehicle because they are always they always get the shit end of the stick when something goes wrong with someone else's work. Point and case.

I really doubt that his truck is running less strong than it was before because of the headers. Motors are only as strong as their weakest link, and the fuel system on Joe's truck is a joke. A split second box with booster pumps designed for a Paxton to feed a motor with twin turbos are you kidding me? If I were a betting man I would say that there in lies his problem, but what the hell do I know. Its easy to bash on someone when you don't have all the facts.

Doug is a stand up guy and always backs his work up unlike the original builder of Joe's truck. He always has the customers best interest at heart, and I can honestly say that with all of my dealings with him.

Peace out...

Agreed buddy. We weren't there, so we dont know. As for being a stand up guy, he may be. But in this case, I would argue it. Both of us have been around the automotive world for a while. You have to admit, 10k for custom headers, is way off the mark. I dont need to know the whole story, to know that's a rip off. He saw Joe coming and took advantage of it. He may very well have told Joe up front, but I dont think Joe really knew any better. So yes, Joe is partly to blame for not doing his homework.
And, you dont know about the other guy down here, that had his truck over there. I dont know Alex.:dontknow:

Well Alex I was!!! You weren't there! So don't talk out your ass because this is a very sensitive issue rt now especially when people who weren't there r putting their two cents worth! You wanna hear my side call me and hear it from me personally! Don't make statements on a subject that u personally were not there to hear!!

Also alex for one I brought up the issue of wrapping and coating to doug and when I did he shied away from it for obvious reasons! Everyone who has looked at the headers are afraid to do either because of how close all the tubes on the drivers side are! There is not enough space to wrap them and in some spots coat them. How can u have a truck 6 months and then say bring it back because I have to weld some more supports between the tubes! 6 months and they should have been perfect and as far as price.... Like I explained before I had no idea what the cost was to do this. I was a virgin when it came to knowledge and someone picked up on it.

Steve,

Some would say that paying 100k plus for a Hennessey Twin Turbo Venom 1000 package would be way of the mark, but people still do pay it. I have never purchased a set of custom made turbos headers for Viper motor so I couldn't tell you what is a fair price. It would be interesing to find out how much Underground or DC would charge for a set.

All I can say when ever I had an issue with my truck Doug took care of it or made it right. When ever I had a question about a performance part he'd answer my call whether or not I was purchasing it from him, and would give me his honest opinion. He was always about customer service first and foremost.

and I thought you had a bone stock engine alex?? so now you have a built engine by levin ?

Yes, Tony my motor is still bone stock with 78k miles. Probably going to have him build my motor once I get to 100k miles.

Joe,

I could understand why this is a very sensitive subject for you, but I never mentioned that I was privy to any of your conversation with Doug. But I did see your truck personally while it was being worked on, and saw sub par workmanship and parts of the JH build. Quite honestly I was surprised that the motor was still holding together.

Joe,

Sorry to burst your bubble in the world of custom high performance racing parts there is no such thing as "PERFECT". You always have to teak or change something. Something always fails, breaks, cracks, doesn't fit right etc. The thing is and I'm using your words he asked you to "bring it back to weld some supports" to make it right, and I'm sure if you would have told him the issues you were having trying to get them wrapped or coated due to clearance; he would have worked with you to resolve the issue.

Please understand that I am not trying to stir any shit up, or discredit your claim(s). I'm just saying things can sometimes be resolved by just talking and staying a level headed.

Last to the owner of this Thread I apologize for the high jacking.

Best Regards,

Alex

Alex I did talk to him recently about the wrapping and heat issues and it was consistently blamed on other issues. My motor has had the same fuel system since day one and has 15k miles on it! Before the new headers I didn't have a heat problem with the bay temps and my oil temp has risen 10 degrees since the new headers because of this. I really don't wish to get I to it on the forum. One day we may run into each other and I'll discuss it in detail then if interested. Thanks.
