Depending if the weather is nice im going to do a oil change and decided ill put some sea foam through the engine. Just wanna double check to make sure. Pour a can of it in a gas tank with approx 30L of fuel, pour almost a full can of sea foam in with oil (from filler cap) and then some through the vacuum line. Which one is that? thought someone said its the big thick black on, on the left side of the brake clynder. Is that correct? if not can someone post a picture?

Since i couldnt find any 0W40 and i was told the shop I go to doesnt sell Redline Synthetic 5W40, i decided to go with Royal Purple Synthetic 5W40. Whats everyones thoughts on this. Not a bad price either i guess... for 9 quarts of oil, K&N filter and 2 cans of sea foam, it came to $150.

Seafoam is an intake/combustion chamber/ valve carbon cleaner. Sea Foam | Motor Treatment I swear by it. I do it atleast once a year, if not every 6 months. I pour one can in the tank and I run one can through the booster vacum hose.

Hey santeen can you provide some info on how to run it through the booster vacum hose? Also do you run it in your oil as well?

snake oil is all it is

And you say that, because you've done scientific testing on it? ANd you can guarantee that it doesn't remove carbon deposits?
Dude, its a fuckin' top engine clean. Manufacturers have used top engine clean products for years.

Yeah I use the big line off the brake cylinder. I have not done it to my 10 though, but run it through all my older vehicles. Last time I did that my neighbors thought my house was on fire. I've never ran it through the crankcase though... that is scary to me.

OK so who has ran it through their crankcase? Was under the impression thats one of the best places to run it. I plan on doing a oil change soon as the smoke clears.

I think your ok if you do an oil change immediately after. I guess I haven't just for lack of knowledge of any cons in putting it in crank case. Let us know how it works out.

but make sure to put 1/2 to a full can through vacuum line, and let it sit for atleast 15 mins. Then take it for a hard drive.. i try to stall out the engine with the last bit of seafoam left... then let it sit

I am thinking about doing this as well. So should the truck be running while i pour the seafoam in the vaccum line? Then turn it off and let it sit or engine running until you see smoke then turn it off and finish pouring the entire can in. Do you put the hose back on after you finish pouring it or do you need to leave the hose off etc Can ya give me some details. Thanks

is there any difference between taking it for a hard ride and just reving the piss out of it in the driveway? Theres 3 reason why i dont want to go for a ride. 1. i cant get traction since its still cold and the tires arent gripping. 2. i dont want the cops coming after me for getting onto it. and 3. i dont want to cops coming after me for all the smoke..lol.

Take vacuum line off while truck is running.

I usually poor the seafoam into a shallow dish, seems easier to suck it up.

Best is to get someone to help you work gas pedal or work the throttle by hand to keep the truck from stalling while the engine sucks in the seafoam.

If i'm by myself, when there's about 1/3 of a can left i let the motor suck it all up to kill the motor. If someone is helping you yell at them to turn the truck off when the seafoam is gone.

Let sit for 15 mins.

Hook vacuum line back up. Start truck.

I take it for a hard ride because I heard it works better if the truck is underload. I have also done it by just reving the vehicle up if I dont have the vehicle plated or dont want to drive it for whatever reason.

You will see thick white smoke out the exhaust... the more smoke, the more it's cleaning.

You can also search youtube videos... I think there's video instructions.

Have you ever ran it in your oil. I see on their website where you can pour it into your oil tank. But need to change the oil when it gets dirty. Just seems wrong to do but i dont know

Never. And if I ever did it would be with minimal run time... then I'd flush the crankcase out. But as I said before, thats only because i don't know if there's any harm in running it in the crankcase.
