i am looking for a good awd daily driver. anyone know a decent amount on either a Mitsubishi evos or subaru stis? i am looking to consider one of those. let me know if you guys know of a good resource on those and what might help me decide on which way to go. i would like to do brand new. the plan would be a one year time frame. this is not a today thing. its nice to be able to do plenty of research before i do something. if i knew of this site before i bought my truck, i would have learned alot and might have done things different. as in there are guys selling their trucks on the site and i would have known about CEs and that sort of stuff.

so any good forums or anything would help. and if any of you own either and can give personal feedback, that would be great too.

there both mean cars andipersonally dontknowmuch about them buti happen to think the Sti's look meaner....

I dont know...maybe if you asked on a Mitsubishi or subaru forum??..LOL...though someone here might admit to owning one...:dontknow:

They both look like caca but are easily moddable. The Evo will get you faster for the money, if you are more about function and longevity, Subaru is you riceburner.

Lol thanks. I am just looking for a fast badass awd ride around that 30-35k price. Seems those 2 are a good bang for the buck. I posted this in the " other cars" area for a reason.

And yes I know how to google search. Just wanted some input over here as well.

Looking for sources that won't waste my time. There are a lot of dumbasses out there. You guys usually keep things pretty straight or :elefant:act like it:elefant:

The gc srt 8s are sick but I think they push above that budget. And the evos and stis are quicker.

I like the looks of the STi,I would go to the dealerships and test drive them both, then you will know first hand? Maybe one will fit you better or be more comfortable then the other? and only way to know this is to jump in one,Thats what I recommend.

I would get neither. Everyone i pick up which has probably been 50 total combined, 45 had blown motors . I think they are all junk. But the subaru deff looks better

Ok, so my first post and I am talking about a non-SRT 10, that's weird.

Anyway, I just got a new '10 EVO Special Edition (no big wing :D) . I have to say I really am enjoying this car. To me it is a little sharper handling than the STI but does have a bit rougher ride. It is really cool to floor it from a stop around a corner and just take off like a bat out of heck. The seats are really nice. I do prefer the looks of the STI (especially hatch) but my main concern was handling so I went with the EVO. One big downside is the warranty is very fragile... from what I have read if you sneeze the wrong way they will void powertrain repairs.

Just my $.02.

BTW - I am hoping to get an SRT-10 either this weekend or next

As far as all the wing comments go.....Ive never been a fan of it either really but keep in mind 9-10 of our "TRUCKS" have a wing also lol but some of those "Ricer" wings do look pretty horrible hahaha

Funny story about those wings on the "Ricer cars," When me and my friends were younger and REALLY into street racing (before fast and the furious jacked that all up) we used to pull pranks on people with those wings. For example, Ever tie a tow strap from the wing to the telephone pole the car is parked in front of and watch the driver pull away and rip his wing off hahahaha. Looking back it was messed up haha

Anywho, back on subject i have experience working on both EVO and STIs and i can tell you right now the EVO is a PAIN to work on. I really like the way the EVO looks, sounds and performs though. STI is easier to work on, but i think they sound HORRIBLE. I recently did a clutch on a STI though with mild mods and i must say they fu*kin boogy. Overall id say i like the EVO more then the STI

THIS MAY HELP YOU DECIDE...Now THIS is how you drive that MOFO!!!

bwahahahaha, what a bunch of fu$%^n knobs. its douche bags like this that give ricers a bad name. and i have never heard so many excusses. and "its my girlfriends car" that dude should have been punched in the dick right after he said that. then the other guy should have pee'ed on him.
