In my opinion the XR with it's access cab was a bad call from Toyota. Our trucks pull more Gs than the 350Z but the 350Z outruns us. I have damn near rebuilt this truck from the frame up. We put together a built engine with super charger/Turbo and WOW Torque is 558 lbs at half throttle. We have exceeded the MAF sensor as well as the stock crankshaft limitations. :embarassed: So while installing custom billet crankshaft we will be sleeving block as well as O-Ringing block and heads. :rock: Custom crankshaft takes 3-4 months to make at $4000 so we are waiting.

Buy a engine thats forged from the gate, will save you tons of cash.

I talked with over 20 crankshaft makers from Scat-Crower and up with $2800-$7500 and doing research and reading reviews and settled on a company in Ca. takes close to 4 months to complete this product. Fatjack should know about this. Being that he is into drag racing. I am in Dallas and my XR is in San Antonio. If you guys put the same money that I have put into this Toyo 6 cyl. you would all be 9s in the 1/4. :laugh::laugh: The real question is can I get one of these Viper engines in my XR. :rock:

You can probably buy one off the shelf. That is why. Correct me if I am wrong but that is my guess. My billett crankshaft is a one off. That is why it is $$$$$$$ Now if a 10 cyl. billett crankshft is a one off I could see it easily $7000.

well some one on this very forum told me he bought a custom stryker cam for his truck. he said it was $900, and he had to pay extra shipping as he does not live in the continental US. i havent done much research. as i am just cracking into the idea of a cam swap. but that is what he said. maybe i misread ro he mistyped:dontknow:

To give ya an idea on what I have gone through. We have 4 cams overhead. $2000 :shot: $400 of that is core deposit. So $1600 for my cam set. Had them cut for turbo. Again custom. No off the shelf.

Wow. Cheap. My crank is already in the making, but what would a 6 cyl. Billet crank cost through you? Have a couple people following in my foot steps. And where is the steel coming from? 48? or 52? I assume that is stroke???? Our stroke is 95mm there is a stroker kit out there from Crower but I would of have to swap out my Pauter rods for longer ones. More $$$$$ Did not go that route. There is a saying that when ya go Crower you losing power. :laugh::laugh:
