well i was running some errands, and this kid and his girlyfriend are next to me revving his engine in his red 2-door Cobalt SS. Im assuming it was TC not SC as i heard a cute little pop-off valve.

well i looked over in disbelief that this little guy would want to be emmbarassed in front of his little girlfriend, so i shook my head and smiled....u know....like the "Im not gunna waste my time with you", type of smile.;)

Well after he "smoked me" off the lights, he slowed down and as i rolled by him laughing with his girlfriend. i was a little upset, so as he tried to walk away again i let 2nd gear eat. And he was alredy in his powerband, and jumped on me.

i IMMEDIATLY pulled out in front of him. but i was soo far ahead of him i couldnt ask him if that little car he found at the bottom of a cracker jack box was infact TC'ed. hahaha. I thought those things were quick. not this one. well, probably the driver. but was funny anyways

LMFAO, i know exactly what you mean. hahaha

we all here know how fast you can make those little buggers with a small amount of $$$. but they do wreck easy, hehe:p:burnout:
 
Stock wise they are slow, but with just a tune the SS/TC is pretty quick. My buddy has a intake and a tune (20psi) and he ran a 13.2 at the track. I ran another cobalt at the track it we did 5 runs (3 runs he won bracket style racing and if you go by just the quickest time, i won 3 times).

Did the rims of the cobalt look like this?

or were they 5 spoked?
 
honestly bud, im not to sure. it was red and had a badge by the SS badge. couldnt read it thow, hard to see his trunk from 4 lengths ahead of him, LOL. nah. he had a wing too, thats about all i know. if i c him around i will ask him. i know they can be wicked fast, if you put a little money into them. this was either the kids first new ride or his dads. haha.. i know he had invested in at least a blow-off, cus there is no way they sound like that factory. sounded good, come to think of it he proly had an exhaust too.

damn armored truck ran him off the road...spun and hit a tree...he and annie are ok...a little bruised...ted's in physical therapy for a few weeks to stay adjusted...

well the SS/TC have the recirculating valve so it doesnt make any noise. Unless the retard added a bov, which only hurts the performance. Sure it wasnt the SS/SC with the supercharge whining? lol. But yea, both the SC and TC come with the gay ass wing, i hated the thing and took it off on my car.
 
yeah, it confused me too. (and realized i jacked the title of the thread too)

i know the new ones also have some staging options and will hold boost through shifts too. not 100%, but it deff was a BO valve. unmistakable

Nit sure what year but it did have a badge other than the SS badge right next too it so i assumed it was a new SSTC or SSSC. could have been an older SS with an added TC. either way, i demolished his ass. and had proly 70hp leftover. hahahahaha. chump
 
The SS/SC were from 05-07 (05's have the SS badges half way up the door, as to all the later models being at the bottom) and the TC's are from 08-10...cant remember if they made a 2011 or if they switched to the Cruze then.

The SS/SC, offically, goes up to Stage 3 (smaller pulley, bigger injectors and meth/nitrous injection)
The SS/TC only goes to Stage 1 right now which is i think just a new sensor and a tune...not sure though. That being said you can get more parts for both cars but they arent classified as a "stage"

Alot of people are doing a turbo swap on the SS/SC because the 2.0L LSJ is better then the 2.0 LNF engine. And a few people have done a twin charge setup from ZZP.

But yea, good work, i love getting kids that rev there engine at me then i make them look like a retard.
 
well, now im reallly confused. just did an image search and the badge looks like the SC badge like on ur buddies blue on in ur pic. rectangle and small. but it was on his trunk.

the only real time i was beside him i was at a light and laughig at him, so i asnt really looking at the car then. but from behind i saw the trunk badge and it was like the SC badge. but, the wing was like th 06's. big wing, niot the Cavalier wing
 
i have seen him around before and will ask him some questions next time i see him. if he doesnt run in shame. hahaha
 
The pic i posted of the blue one was my old car. Never seen a cavilier with a wing but all the SC and TC come with the high rise wing. The badges on the door and the trunk are the same. Just says SS with Turbocharged or Supercharged under it. Unless the owner changed it.
 
oh ok. i saw a couple that had a smaller wing, mus have been some Cavies. but yeah, couldnt read the badge, just know it said something more han SS
