My new BMW

the only thing about the bmw is they like to surge in first when you start off...a little different then any other bike i've ridden...it's a VERY neutral bike, and you can turn off the abs (like if you're off in the woods) and leave it on in the street...

i just sold a buddy of mine's for him...

just found out tonight that bmw made moto's before they made cars. and planes before that. that is the second biker i have talked to. very shocked to see how human and down to earth they are...... thought they were all suicidal nut jobs.....

for $1000 more i could have had the 1000RR, they eat hondas.

it's funny you say that...a lot of people don't know that...i've always liked bmw's...the brand, the engineering...the lifestyle, so to speak...

i live 20 mins. from the plant in spartanburg which was originally built to make the z3's only, then the z4's... they then added the x5 series, and then the x6 and x3, and as of now, they only build the suvs (sorry sAv's;)) there, as they've shipped the z4 back to munich, i believe for construction...

they also have the performance center which has track days/rentals and an off-road/adventure course, as well for the x series AND the bikes...

next to it, is the bmw museum...it's small, but has a lot of history...you can also take a virtual tour through the factory, as well...

when you buy a new bmw, you have the option of taking the "performance center delivery" i.e. they ship your car to you directly to the performance center, and you get a complimentary 1/2 day track day...

i saw a tshirt there once that said "i didn't know bmw made cars" :D ...people who know bmw's get it;)

if you're ever down this way it's a worthwhile stop, IMO...it's right off 85S in Spartanburg, SC.
