What should Oil pressure psi be for you guys running a paxton setup?

My truck is an 05 at idle it's 75psi when warm. Driving about 95 psi. Seems really high to me? Needless to say I haven't driven the truck hard. Oil is about 3/4 on the dip stick

I'm under the truck today doing all the poly bushings to I will check to see if has an inline sender. If not where is it located on the block? Cheers J

i agree with ya.

might be a stickin by-pass valve or a sensor/gauge prob:dontknow:

its by the oil temp sensor, where the engine oil cooler lines are at the block

you'll like the poly bushins:rock:

right around here

do you even drive your truck. that is way too clean:p

You should look for the pump bypass spring upgrade! There have been reports of ruptured oil filters. They make a big mess and you risk losing all your engine oil in one shot!

thanks:D

its my DD dude.

that was taken right after my engine oil cooler line had took a big dodo.
was stoppin to get gas & pumped out 4qts of oil by the time i got to the pump.

installed the new lines & cleaned her top & bottom.

most are just leaks, around the fittins. mine split a hose open at the crimp & the wind blew & the shit flew.

as important as these lines are to our engines, correct me if i'm wrong, but the lines are what feed our engines oil, they are totally P.O.S.

Paxton or not you should show about 25-30 at idle, 40 or so cruising, 50+ WOT when fully warm. General rule of oiling is 10 psi per 1000rpm.
The SC won't affect oil psi.
What he said. ^^^^^^ :withstupid:

That ain't right. As mentioned, either a bad gauge or ur about to rupture something.

The truck is still sitting as I have been doing the poly bushings for the suspension. The front upper control arms are a PITA.. So I have not disconnected and cleaned the plug yet. And I was going to remove the oil lines and blow them out with my compressor to make sure that there not blocked? Are they any other things I should check" like the oil line going to the charger? Cheers J

what year is your beast????

might be in line for the update oil pump by-pass valve
was there a recall or any problems with the oil pumps on our trucks or at least an 05's? What does the updated oil pump by-pass valve do? Is it located on the oil pump housing?

Where can one get this spring upgrade at?

I have everything to do a oil change. I'm going to remove the oil line that goes to the charger and blow some air threw it to make sure its not blocked. And I'll clean the connector on the oil pump. Are there any known problems with our oil pumps?

Cheers J

The only problems with the pump is the spring on some and the price of a new one. About $1600! The spring sets the pressure. Some are sticky pretty easy to change out!

I cleaned the 2 connectors and no change still high Psi. Where is the spring that gets stuck located at. I still need to blow out the charger oil line and change the oil.

I'm in the same boat. I have a Paxton as well and mine runs around 75PSI but drops to around 55-60 PSI when driving. It doesn't usually go past 75PSI. Where can you check the spring or get the upgrade?

Since my Oil Psi is higher than normal- what are the oil temps that you guys have. Mine is about 175/180 does that seem in the normal range. I figured if there is some kind of blockage temps would be higher, unless its electrical-ie a plug, switch,or gauge?
