Looking at the cost to fly across the country and drive a srt-10 back. The fuel, the hotel, the 2 days. Would it be a better idea to have it hauled here on a tractor trailer. if so can you give me an idea on price and give me a connection of someone to talk to. Thanks.

ShipCoastToCoast.com Auto Transport

you will get ten quotes and twenty phone calls ,,if a company called tristar trucking quotes you dont use them they are only a broker ,,i used this to get a company to haul a 3/4 ton from florida i just bought ;)

Holy shit, it took 45 second, and while i was on the phone with the first guy i got 3 beeps. First quote was $725 Seems to be cheaper then flying and driving back when you factor Plane ticket, fuel, and hotel.

Fly and drive!! You can properly check the truck out and enjoy the miles ! I had mine shipped and had the front bumper scraped and the rear bumper corner scraped by tue moving company!

since that truck is in houston ill go get it and drive it for a couple weeks if you like lol,,just have the guy take some good close up pics of it so if they do scratch something you have proof it was done by them ;)

I had a front bumper to repair as well, but it was only $600 to have it shipped from FL to TX:dontknow:

I just had a truck shipped up from Destin, FL to here in Cheyenne and it cost me over $1000. If the cost is close and you like driving, I say drive. If you hate it, then get it shipped. You get what you pay for though.

Like johnnybravo said, if you dont mind driving and its around same price take the drive, but 1000+ miles is alot of driving lol

I just bought an 05 QC from Ohio and had it shipped to Florida. $809. I went through redcarpet auto transport. They are the middle man. But I don't care my truck got here safe and sound nothing wrong. Took 7 days to get here from pickup but it was shipped week of July 4th so it probably would have been sooner.

I used Turbo Auto out of Great Falls Montana and they shipped it from California right to my front door in Alberta Canada for $1300.00. I had some complications with paper work with them so it took longer to get to my home but in the end i was satisfied with there service. I can't remeber the owner's names but i can get them if you want.

What im seeing from these third party carriers, is you pay an up front fee, they find you a truck. When it is delivered you pay the rest to the driver. Anyone heard of the driver trying to charge more than agreed upon?

Not on mine. Paid $150 to broker. Rest to driver when he delivered. Whatever you do don't sign the paperwork until you have inspected the vehicle and everything is fine. If not you have to file claim through the driver's company not the broker. Once the car is shipped the broker pretty much has no more control.

I have had several cars trucks shipped with no problems.
I have always used open carrier and had it shipped to a close freight drop point (not door to door) that will save you lots.
I think the last carrier I used was Hilton transport aprox $600.00 from Richardson texas to Bellingham Washington.

What 10 did you get Jeff?

I havent transfered money to anyone yet. Im waiting first to see if Chris "Geodriller" is going to sell me his. There is the truck in houston texas that accepted my offer, but hasnt called me back to arrange a transaction or square away the deal. I havent heard from geo or the guy in houston in 3 days. But i made a bid on a truck on ebay. 06 black RC with 17k miles headers and bedcover. Im highest bidder at $23,500 and made the reserve. The guy has answered or returned every call, and sent me more pictures. Everything is on hold right now, but the ebay auction ends sunday, so i hope i hear from Geodriller before then.

I bought mine in Dayton Ohio, left Tulsa at 6 am, flew in nonstop and drove it back. I can't remember but I think it was around 900 miles. I look at everything like that as an adventure. Had fun cruising back. I left Dayton at a little after 1 pm and was at my house before 11, long day, but also fun. I think I stopped and filled up twice and my plane ticket was around 250.00.

I had my 10 shipped in a inclosed trailer by Reliable Transport from Texas to Virginia for about $1200.00. Sadly they took it to Michigan first and stored for a couple weeks before they got it to me. The reason they said they did that was the truck needed several vehicles on board headed the same direction.:( It was all worth it once I got to drive it. :driver:

I understand the point in filling the truck first to bring it your direction, but did they tell you this ahead of time or give you a delivery date before you committed to them to haul your truck? That would be frustrating knowing it was sitting elsewhere when someone else could have hauled it quicker!

I would be dangerously pissed off if i bought a truck and it sat somewhere that long.
