Looking for anyone who has run the Spec Stage 3+ or Super Twin clutch. Give me any info that you have. How do they feel, performance, etc?

Or should I look at the McCloud Twin disc?

Do we have any aftermarket flywheel options other than the Fidanza?

I run the McLeod Twin Disc with the McLeod Aluminum flywheel. I like it but the peddle pressure is high. Mcleod first told me to run the steel flywheel because of the truck being heavy..they didn't recommend Aluminum for vehicles over 3500 lbs. I had been running the Fidanza flywheel with a Centerforce, so I tried the steel flywheel for about 8 months. I lost 2/10 ths (slower) and the truck did not feel as responsive. I went back to the Aluminum flywheel about a year and a half ago and got back my 2/10ths, truck feels much better. I will stick with Aluminum.

Whats your thoughts if you were forced induction, do you think you would feel the same way?

Currently I run the Centerforce with the Fidanza and I also was happy with the performance. Just not sure if adding another 400hp, if I will still be happy with the Aluminum or not.

Just put the Spec in...have about 750 miles on it. Using a stock flywheel...have about 805 crank hp (Roe with 10 lb pulley).

Just tested the Spec yesterday, snapped my neck from a 50 mph roll to WOT in 5th gear...chirped the Pirelli's from a 40 mph roll in 4th gear to WOT...

I also have a Wilwood clutch master and the newly designed (billet prototype) slave from Tony.

Have not tested from a stop yet...want a little more material on the flywheel from the new Spec first...but very happy so far.

I have NO experience with forced induction, sorry. Listen to the Prof.

My truck was putting out about same as Prof...same Roe supercharger setup....Spec 3+ was the best clutch out of 3...1st was stock which lasted about 10K miles...Centerforce made about 15K if I remember....SPEC was the only one out of the three that I could spin the rear tires all the way thru 3rd....the first 2 would start slipping when I hit 3rd if I the truck wasnt moving at least 60MPH...

Spec 3+ and fidanza aluminum flywheel. And a b&m shifter. Works like a champ. Although not on a srt ram.

When talking about holding power, I'd like to hear from those who launch hard at track on some stickey tires. Not just drive around on stree tires.

Which Spec did you install?

Stage 3+

or

Super Twin

I asked Tony about the slave on the other forum and never really got a answer about it. Does Tony's kit come with the Wilwood master? Is the slave adjustable?

basically because its not 100% tested, prof has it in his , says he loves the combo so far
it will come with a wilwood master cylinder, a billet mounting bracket, with a billet adjsutable arm that will connect to the oem ball on the pedal
you will also get a new bracket for the resevior, one probably large enough to install the line lock an the resevior if wanted, it will mount like a line loc bracket
it will have braided lines from the master to the slave with a line as long as the feed line with a fast bleeder on the end, so both lines can be ran together and you bleeder either under the hood at the master or under the truck

the slave is a cast unit with all the plastic parts removed and billet ones replaced
and with a new bearing, now you can shim the bearing some, but basically to make it an easy install non adjustable, but someone with tranny knowledge will understand how.

as soon as the machinest is back from vacation an option will also be a billet resevior

Stage 3 (and it has a stock feel in terms of the pedal pressure, very light!!!)

The install was absolutely a 10 on a scale of 10...very easy...everything married up perfectly...

The billet slave/throwout bearing is just perfect. No more flex, no more heat issues.

I have not yet jumped on the clutch from a stop...would like to have 1000 miles on it so that there will be a good amount of the clutch on the flywheel before I dump over 800 hp on it...maybe by the middle of this month...we are testing a '70 road runner (big build) next week...maybe I can get a few test runs in at the track at the same time...:drool::drool:

Did I read that correctly Prof?? Your gonna her down the track?? Lol . Will be great to hear how it does! :)

Well that is my intention...I am composing all of the excuses I can think of...too old to get it down the track...new clutch...been too long since I looked at a tree...reaction time is a function of age...but if I don't get it into the 11.70's it is surely because of the weather and air density...poor track conditions...lack of motivation...bad gas...(in the truck and in the driver)...

rock on an thank you so much for testing this an helping me on this, and giving an honest review buddy

Sounds promising, let me know the details when you have it all sorted out Tony. I am expecting to need some of these parts very soon.

Prof, you hit the track yet. I've been waiting to see a stout blown rc 10 make some GOOD passes. You can do it.

No I have not.

My friend from Canada, had a pretty sever heart attack last Sunday, and we have had him here at the house with his girl friend...he was going to test his Roadrunner at the track, but that was set aside for awhile. Pics of his monster build:

Its a B1 Max Wedge (Brodex heads!!!) putting down about 1000 rwhp.

But I love the Spec...but like many have said...it wants high rpm to move from a stop, but it grabs strong and smooth after that.
