I weighed the truck today in full street trim less the aftermarket bed cover. Thats with the stock doors, full interior, wheels and tires, tailgate, subwoofer and package tray in the truck. Weight is 4620 lbs, with 1/4 tank of fuel. Race weight is 4230 lbs.:D

less almost 400 lbs is worth how many tenths???

nice work man. 400 lbs dont come easy. how much do think you cut from the doors?

I'm catching ya in reverse lol. Adding 100 lbs of stereo equip. Lol. Now ill be up to 4900 and change.

my truck with me in it and a full tank of gas is about 5600 just for reference

edit... well that was with the toolbox;)

Holy crap what year is your truck??

I had mine on the scales bone stock at the track in Florida and it was 4800 with a 1/4 tank of gas...

i was unaware that you weigh 800lbs lol

I didn't cut anything from the doors, they are stock weight. I have a seperate set of doors from a 2003 Ram that I had gutted. When I race it takes a little over 12 minutes to change both doors (which saves about 180lbs).Notice I said Race weight is 4230 lbs, street weight is 4620 lbs. What has been removed from the stock truck is: no spare, no spare holder, no tow bar, removed the factory plastic bedliner, front sway bar, we removed metal from both front and rear bumpers and I have fiberglass fenders and a carbon fiber hood. Full weight of the truck when I started was 5,000 lbs, because I had added an aftermarket fiberglass bedcover.

i don't last i checked... :marchmellow:

it's an 05...but when i've had to weigh out at the dump it's been right around there...

27 gal. of fuel, me around 180, the toolbox and it was probably full of stull, spare, hitch and receiver... who knows what else behind the seats... and i would go racing just like that...

now that i have all the stuff out, i suppose i could go weight it again just to see... yeah... i think i might:slug:

I had forgot about your hood and fenders. I need to weigh mine with the entire front bumper removed, do you know what the axle weights are?

No, truck was on the scale at the local recycler. The hood and fenders were not that much of a savings. The hood saves 14 lbs and the fenders save 7 lbs each. I'm talking with my bodyman now about removing all of the metal from the front bumper and making an aluminum bracket like yours. Do you have a photo?

Trainman, any pics of where you trimmed/removed material from the front/rear bumper? I'd like to knock a few more pounds of mine as well.

I have some photos but I don't know how to post them. They are safely in my digital camera. I think "Tooloe" posted some photos of his weight removal and mine was similar. Do a search under weight reduction.

Thanks, found what I was looking for!
