Now they just need to be cleaned, buffed, waxed and reinstalled along with my new set of HID 8000k bulbs, and LED amber turn signal bulbs

Thanks guys. I wanted to leave the part where the blinker goes chrome but when i put the masking tape on it the chrome turned black. It was weird never seen that happen. Then i sprayed a 50/50 mix of windex and water on it to try to clean it off and all the chrome just turned black so i said screw it and scotch brited the whole thing, primered grey and then painted flat black. Will see how good the lighting is once i reinstall. I will be using LED light bulbs. Ill post pictures in a couple days when i reinstall them. This was the first time i ever tried baking headlights and doing this mod and i must say its VERY easy DIY job. And the 02-05 headlights come apart VERY easy. Ive heard that the 06 and up headlights are kinda a PITA

Also had Jermey(0212353) w/ Retro Shop do my taillights and 3rd brake light. He did a Level 2 tint which looks bitchin' because they still have a red tint to them and he left the clear, clear for me. Cant wait to get all these lights back on the truck

At what temp for how long did you bake yours at, i was looking in to do the same for my light.

It's going to look bitchen when finished. They make a bulb for the turn signal bulb that is silver when its off and amber when it comes on. Those would look cool in there.

Great info, Thanks bud

Well i was told a few different temps and times lol, but i ended up preheating to 250(bake) then put light in there for 10 minutes and they came apart VERY easily, but i was told they would come apart fairly easy even at 7 minutes. Then after i painted them and was ready to put back together i put them back together and placed them in oven for 5 minutes pulled them out and pressed them back together solid and ran an additional bead of black silicone to be sure they sealed up solid

sorry I missed your PM yesterday!

Just replied and saw the thread.

No worries Jeremy. Thanks for you help brutha

Great work! Gotta feel good to do it yourself and have it come out looking extremely professional.

Thanks Jason. Yea i almost bought my neighbors set that were done already but then SRT2SLOW convinced me to just do it my self. Very happy with the turn out

Thanks for the info, I have a second set of headlight I was going to give it a shot this weekend and hopefully they turn out.
