I am absolutely shocked at the cost of CAI systems on the SRT10.

I am coming from the Audi world where EVERYTHING is expensive and a CAI is $400 (which I felt was silly also).

So, what's the deal? Although I truly don't expect an answer, maybe there is one. Really, I was simply venting that the cost of the CAI would be well on the way to a sweet exhaust system. Sigh. I had hoped it would be a little cheaper on this side of the pond. I am used to $100 oil changes from my Audi ($100 in oil alone for the 4.2V8) and it seems that the oil cost should be about the same. At least I didn't really flinch at that. But that damn CAI cost is astronomical.

A cai looks and sounds great. But the best is the stock air box with a k&n drop in.

Wait till you look at real parts....
viper tax

It's funny that you say that, because it was the same situation for the Audi S4 (2005). A CAI was a total waste really. All the power was made with a drop in filter, headers and exhaust.

Yap, thats why I just have the drop in. I put the money in parts that make more HP. :D

there is nothing cheap about anything that has the name 'Viper' in it

if you are expecting 100 $ anything - do your self a favor and sell the truck now

I beg to differ... my first mod was my cai, that on a bone stock truck was fairly impressive. I know H is frowned upon here but I bought the cai before I was a member and I have to say I'll never regret it but yes at $500 it was overpriced. The way it mounts is sturdy and acts almost as a ram air (right behind the pass side grill). I hit 156mph with my 300lb buddy in the passenger seat, and at that speed it was getting air forced in so hard I swear it was the equivalent of adding a lb. of boost.

I don't have one yet. I simply desire one and I am doing research to see if it is a right fit for me.

No ironhead is making nice hp na and rotton ronnie.....midnight is doing ok .... but all that chrome didnt add any horse power lol....does it lok good?????well im a wetback so im partial to chrome!!!!!!

I'm a white boi and I also love chrome. I grew up listening to hot boys! BlIng bling...

No chrome on the wheels, I'm a baller for real. :)

Actually, I am a huge fan of a polished finish on cars. Chrome is not even on my radar.

Yet, when it comes to motorcycles or bathroom fixture finishes I can't get enough.

The Factory system is Cold Air, it's taken from the Wheel well far away from Radiator heat.

Sorry bud this is the only pic I have right now and its on my phone. Im having trouble to get the pic in larger (dont know what I'm doing lol) so I just stuck it in as a Sig pic for now. When you remove the plastic shroud behind the grill this thing gets tons of air flow!!!
