starter????

anyone had starter probs???

mine would just click, mash the little red button a few times & the starter would engage.

went away for a bit & now its back, with a vengence

looked around & can find no starter relay. strong 12v at the starter & signal wire.

clutch switch working & no codes.

got a "new" one coming from Rock Auto.

just want to check to make sure there is no hidden gizmo to check &/or replace.

Actually Carl, I think it's the clutch switch that intermittently gives out. I have had hell with those damn things and have heard of others having similar issues. You can unplug it and jumper the wires from the harness together as I have and rid of the neutral safety to rule that out as the issue.

by the size of the wires, looks like it carries a decent load

no prob on the starter:rock:

got a good jumper on her & hell she even starts better.

the return springs in the switch broke & stacked up not lettin it get to the contacts

update:

starter just this side of shootin craps.

replaced today & checked it out. header heat killed it.

any one know of a good starter heat sheild????:dontknow:

bottom line, had 2 probs goin one.

clutch switch return springs got squashed from too much travel with the Viper hyd. update & the header heat shortened the starter's life.
