I went to the track for the 1st time ever. I ran a 13.9@100mph, 8.9 in the 1/8th that was my best, as the evening went on the track got really bad and i was running 14.1's with squeeling in 3rd gear. Had a R/T's in the .1's ans .2's but also had a pretty bad one. Never lost a race so that was a good thing . It was 27degrees C and very humid out which didn't help times either. Raced a mustang with full slicks (as seen in video). Raced a trans-am with a 400 big block. Raced a 74 dodge ram with a 440 in it, a 70 dodge d100 with a 430hp 340ci and some other vehicles. All in all, had a blast and can totally see how you guys get addicted to that, also won a t-shirt for going 100mph. Also weighed my truck, 6050lbs without me in it and 1/2 tank. Was suprised it weighed that much.
What else could i do to my truck to make it a bit quicker, i'm not looking to redo my engine or anything crazy, just some bolt ons and stuff. My current mods are in my sig.

This was my worst run and my worst R/T by far. I red lighted the run before with a -0.03 so thats why i screwed up so bad on the video R/T cuz i was scared of red lighting again.

Practice by going to the track more .... Caltracs, less gas , Tire pressures , remove tale gate and spare tire ... Glad you had fun and winning some races.:rock:

As far as power mods you can delete the rear cats, get an underdrive pulley. If your going to go to the track a lot get some drag radials, don't wanna be burning up your street tires.

I beleive i need my rear cats for emission testing. sorry for the dumb question, whats an underdrive pulley?

The pulley on the crankshaft drives all the serpentine belt accessories. By going to a slightly smaller pulley (an under drive pulley), you reduce the amount of effort it takes for the engine to spin the accessory pulleys.

What were you 60ft times?

Looks like fun. I am also interested in what your 60ft. times are.

I'm right lane. That was against the trans am (picture). Once i get my r/t's more consistant my 60's and 1/4 will be better.

So if i left at .001 r/t my 60ft times would be the same if i left at .576? I'm confused, thats 1/2 a second i figured forsure that would change the times :dontknow:. Im a rookie to this racing scene.

The r/t is the point from when the light turns green to when your vehicle moves. The e/t doesn't start moving until the vehicle moves. Hope this helps, if it doesn't I understand. I can't explain stuff very well.

The time doesn't start until you cross the beam/line. It is possible to lose the race despite having a faster time.

Yes you can lose the race having a faster time as the first to trip the light at the end wins!! Unless bracket racing with a dial in that you have to run as close to the dial in ( number you think you can be consistent at) as you can. The furthest off what they said they can run loses.
Reaction time comes into play as it helps you get to the end faster than your opponent given the same power/vehicle. :D
