trans question wtf is this for

I guess I won't be eliminating this useless 10 lbs of steel and possibly rubber, that's still up for debate.

Still depends on manufacture date. We can ,however, by process of elimination find what month they did start doing this :D

You meat smoker! Unless your DAMPNER is different from the ones I've seen, there's a ring of rubber separating the two pieces. The face and the outer ring ;)

scotty im telling you i took a screwdriver and dug ,scratched and poked it like you like me poking you ,,this one has no rubber at all .

Put the smoke down, quit poking at shiat, and look with yer darn eyes and a magnifying glass like you do your lil sausage. Lmfao
If not then there are indeed two different ones used:dontknow:

And yours had one or no? See if it's got rubber in it if so :)
Thanks for your participation and NAZI modding of our beloved forum ;)

Fudgepacker!!!

Tard ,I took a small punch and tapped all around it and in it and no rubber anywhere its all metal like the plate in your rock hard skull ,but you are the masterbaiter and all knowing so they must be making rubber that is as hard and sounds like steel when banged on with a hammer and punch :D

O ya ,I have his trans so there !

It is a vibration damper and there is rubber on it somewhere. (take a torch too it when you get it off and I bet you find it :D ) I've seen Ford bolt them on rear differentials, Dodge bolt them on frames, etc. I'm guessing they were trying to cut back on the vibration felt through the shifter on the '04's.

After thinking about it, the rubber ring faces the driveshaft. About 3/8" thick maybe

I must have went so fast I slung it out because as I said ten damn times there is no rubber in mine. None zero nada nothing got it goobers I might bring it to work and cut that biotch in half and take pics to prove it to all of u hardheaded knotheads

Do you have those pictures yet?

I can't help with figuring out when they started seeing as I have an 06, but mine definitely has one. Also it has the rubber insert and it is facing the rear of the truck.

04's and some very early 05's did not have the damper, however if your tailshaft seal started leaking you got the damper installed if you took your truck to the dealer.
It was stricly there to help eliminate the rear tailshaft seal from leaking due to the vibrations

So we're there two versions made? One with rubber insert to dampen vibrations, and one solid with no rubber?
