I agree. I have been with the girlfriend for 4 years and there are some PROBLEMS going on right now. I am very glad I haven't married her.

Going through it myself right now, hopefully there aren't any kids involved, and if there isn't, cut her loose and move on. I'm in the USAF and the best thing about the military in my opinion is getting to meet new people and traveling the world. Once you get back from downrange, get stationed overseas if your not already, and travel and enjoy yourself...the right one will come along when ready. Personally I fought and fought and fought to keep us together, and it was never enough, so I just said I had it and I'm already feeling better. Now I can focus on MY dreams and goals instead of trying to make sure HERS became reality (while my opportunities were slipping by) .... Be safe down there and take this time to re-evaluate your personal situation and make plans to accomplish your goals and enjoy the things that make you and only you happy. Good luck brother

Guys, it's pretty much different for everyone. Knew my bride for 8 months before we got married, been married to her for 33 years... and that included year long military deployments, TDY,s and all the BS

I agree that you are not alone. IMO, if distance is the problem then she is not wife material. To me a distance problen means she REALLY needs a mans affection and is likely to cheat. What if you went to jail, what if you had to go work out of town, what if etc...

Here is a picture of my x-girlfriends ass. She left me 2 years ago because I offered to support her while she got an education. Turns out she was a gold digger who wanted the good life. Glad it didn't work out, I am much happier in Colorado where there are a million beautiful women.

Shitty deal brother, my wife is currently in Cuba with her boyfriend. She left last Sunday and I don't even know when she's coming back.
I know how it feels and I couldn't imagine being deployed and having to deal with the bullshit.
I met my wife and 13 months later we were married, never again will I ever do that. The euphoria of a new relationship and falling in love blinds people. I was one of them.
Six years and three kids later I get to start over. Women suck balls, but like they say it takes two to make it work. I can't say I was even close to perfect, but I sure as shit learnt a lot about myself and what I will and wont do in the future.
Good luck in everything that is to come.

If she is willing to just leave you like that u dont need her man imagine if ur got hurt and say on life support she would leave u when you need her the most i've seen that happen first hand she left him and when she found out he passed away she came back thinking she was getting paid and our c.o. Knew what had happened and gave his sgli to his mom he made sure she didnt get a cent from him.

This is so crazy reading all this i was with my wife for 8 years we got married 7 months ago and are now in divorce court but we are both trying to work things out knowing it will never work out . I went to talk to her tonight and she spit in my face and threw a soda bottle at me and hit me in the face with it . Im done after that . Its just cool that you guys are telling stories about moving on and being happy . It would be easy for me but i have 2 daughters 3 and 6 . so we will see what happens .
