I know its been said a million times, if you are concerned about MPG, get a civic. However I just wanted to see how good I could get it. I started by cleaning the throttle body, intake tube, freshening up my K&N, getting rid of straight pipes (it sounded like shit) and getting a high flow triple chamber muffler (deep, lopey V8 rumble now) and running a few bottles of gumout fuel system cleaner. Then I filled up with good gas and added a bottle of seafoam and also sucked a can into my intake manifold and let it sit there for an hour. SMOKED LIKE A BITCH!! Ran the truck for about 30 miles and got around 17 mpg on average. (see attached pic) A few days ago I was getting less than 9. This is a quad cab with 80k miles on it, so I guess the truck had a lot of junk that needed to be cleaned out. Pretty impressed with the results, especially with gas hovering around 4 bucks. Just thought Id share this, a little bit of preventive maintenance goes a long way. :burnout:
