Hey all,

My fiancé is buying me suspension goodies for my birthday in a few months. I want to lower my truck and also replace parts that are old.

I was thinking of getting the 2/5" lowering kit on Tony's website but the description is vague. Does it come with new shocks all the way around?

JMB has the qa1 shocks for $649 and I was going to get those and probably all the urethane bushings before lowering the truck. Thinking about the ROE kit also- the 2/4" kit.

But if Tony's kit came with shocks id rather go that route.

Does anyone have the 2/5" kit? What did you do to correct the pinion angle? How does the truck ride, and how does it feel on the highway? Mine feels pretty damn mushy on the highway. On my Avenger I can rip the steering wheel left and right at 40 mph and hear the tires chirp because the suspension is so tight with zero body roll on cold tires (manual steering probably makes a difference :dontknow: ). I want my SRT to have suspension that tight.

I do occasionally tow a small trailer. With a drop that low, will that completely negate any towing capacity?

Thanks

I have tonys 2/5 kit. It rides perfect with zero issues. I havent even got it re aligned yet and its been a few months but then again Tony installed it so he pretty much took care of that on the spot. Feels tight, corners better, got new shocks out back. You cant even tell its lowered just cruisin around. Back end will bottom out when you hit really big bumps or potholes though. Nothing major, axle just kisses the frame a little bit. Other than that its perfect.. its the best mod I ever did

excellent drop kit from Tony, same one I have.. It does NOT come with shocks and Im getting new ones next.

What happened to all the posts here? I read a few and now they all went poof. Something happen?

Obviously a post that talked about a certain vendor mentioned above, so it got erased, right?

Dudes, you guys are too thin skinned, I don't know what happened, but these are grown ass men. Let them talk shit and let said crybaby defend himself on a forum he doesn't control. Like I said, I don't know what went down, but somebody here always erases shit.

Again, I'm just assuming because I only read a few posts, if I'm wrong, somebody speak up.

I have the McGaugheys lowering kit, I seem to like it and have over 70k miles driving time with it. Also have run 11.561 1/4 mile in a QC with it, so I might be biased.

Where does Scott (Venomous1) fit in in this equation? Doesn't he also offer a lowering kit. My preference is JMB for quality and customer service.

I'm not sure what happened , just assuming because a certain vendors name was mentioned. Shit always gets erased when that happens. Starting to get annoying on a grown ass man forum.

Hey, I could be thinking of another thread, but I thought there were more posts on this thread. I did go back on topic on my last post though.:D

i only did the 1/2 drop kit on my RC from JTSVP.

it would bottom out on really hard bumps with a little load in it, but the RC also has the flip kit, so it's lower already.

i did new poly bushings everywhere you could: leaf springs, front upper and lower control arms, sway bars, steering rack and it was a COMPLETELY different truck.

the bushing upgrade i recommend regardless of what you do.

excellent drop kit from Tony, same one I have.. It does NOT come with shocks and Im getting new ones next.
i think each kit is different depending on the customer's needs...

i don't believe they all come with shocks.

but i've never stayed at a holiday inn, either:D

Mine came with shocks because I'm awesome. I also cut the tags off mattresses because I'm so gangster #fuckthepolice

Yes guys we all sell a kit of some sort and give or take they'll ride similar. None of the kits( mine included) change rear springs or c notch the bed. We could go lower and ride smoother after notching rear frame. Like Phxpoolguy, I have 70,000+ miles in mine and its been 1.6 60 ft without issue.
Front side I like to use lower control arm as it gets the frame away from control arm like factory. You'll have to shave front/rear bump stops or replace with very thin ones. You will hit these bumpstops even without a load once lowered!!
Most kits do not come with shocks although it is a wise choice! If you want to handle better we need to approach that direction, if straight line performance is your goal, we set up suspension accordingly towards weight transfer not necessarily corner balancing as a cornering truck would need.

We have multiple kits depending on your end goal and the look you want with those handling characteristics.
