Whats the best way to clean our engines? Im always scared to do it cause im afraid something is going to mess up lol.:dontknow:

In my experience a solid coat of straight Simple green, wait 15-20 min, water hose, blow dry. If thick then use an old kitchen sponge/scratch pad to break up the gunk.

What yall mean by brush and scrub i was just gona spray some degreaser and rinse it off from the car wash

Unless it is caked on heavy(oil/grease) Simple green will eat through it without drying everything out when you're done. Some stornger cleaners will fade valve covers and plastics under the hood.

make sure you cover up that computer though, dont wanna fry that thing. Also, dont do it hot. Cold water on really hot aluminum…not good. Do it cold with LOW water pressure!! Just spray some simple green like everybody said, wait, rinse off really good. Then go get your leaf blower and dry it. When you are done, spray some tire dressing on a rag and go to town on anything black. Some people will say dont do this, but Ive always done it since I was a kid and it never hurt anything. LOW PRESSURE WATER!!

303 Aerospace protectant after. Does more than just look good, it actually protects.
Also works great on interiors, lights, etc to block UV rays.

Maybe a little over time. I live in an area where dust isnt an issue at all. If I put tire wet on my tires, it still looks good a week later as long as it doesnt rain. And if you're anything like me, you dust the engine off with a rag at least once a week anyway.

Simple Green, let sit, Wash off with low pressure water hose, Dry with Leaf Blower, Armor All black parts. I do it every weekend & have had no problems. If I lived on a dirt road I would probably skip the Armor All on the engine & tires.

Another option is to pour all your used motor oil on all of the engine bay. I PROMISE nothing will dry out on ya

Yea i wont be doin the tire wet due to the fact that i live in the texas panhandle and we sometimes get all 4 seasons in one day or dust bowls. But ill try the simple green and i hearf do it while truck is running.

I would not do it while the truck is running or the engine bay is hot. The previous owner of my truck cleaned the bay while it was hot and now my Belanger headers ceramic coating is peeling and looks like shit. I like Adam's Polish all purpose cleaner, but I'm sure simple green will work fine.
