I can see what my friend says before you call your adjuster....
I would take off any of the modifications and extras that you can. If you have stock parts, put them on, if the parts you take off, and don't have replacements for, hope it goes unnoticed, or leave them on. Now, I've never done it, but several people I know have, and that is, when their vehicle has been totaled out, they get the check for book value, but then they buy the vehicle back from the insurance (for a much cheaper price of course). I'm just not sure how much, or if all insurance companies do it. But I know a guy that has totaled his car twice, and bought it back twice, and rebuilt it himself.. Good luck!
Buy it back, I was rearended in one of my land cruisers, parts are very expensive so the INS wanted to total it, so I negotiated with the agent. He gave me more for my truck b.c I showed receipts for 4.88 gears, lift, etc, etc. The I worked him down on what the "salave yard" was going to make me buy it back for. Originally they wanted like $1500 taken off the value of the check they were going to write to me to just let me keep the truck in my drive way, similar position you are in. So I talked them down to $500 and the value of the truck up a couple thousand and came out way ahead. Even is you dont have "receipts" I'm sure you are smart enough to figure out how to have "receipts". I then put on some nice aftermarket bumpers and had extra money in my bank account.
Don't forget to sue the non licensed, non insured little bitch who hit you.
It depends on how they will fix that quarter.
