AIR RIDE OR DROP KIT.....WHATS THE WAY TO GO

I have both, as I wanted the ability to raise the truck slightly more in the rear when carrying luggage. I would be concerned on how a full blown bag system would effect handling. It may work fine, but I would have to think that it would feel a little looser.

You'll not make an airbag 10 handle well at all! It will ride like a Lincoln/Cadillac and handle as such. Great ride and handling don't go hand in hand. Good handling vehicles ride like go carts, smooth riding airbagged rides don't handle! They can still tow well though even at the dropped height..
My opinion would be a static suspension drop with bridging frame to allow axle to go into frame area!
Don't forget a body drop can go on top of a suspension drop for an even more down to earth appearance.

You know, I don't stick up for anyone Dom but your talking that shit to a damn good man that's twice your age! While I agree Shorty didn't need to say anything about your children's grades, the words you chose are pretty much bullshit! What if someone talked to your pops like that? Your grandfather??
Oh and no need to chunk my name in the mix either fugger!

QUOTE= BITTINNIGHTRUNNER] WHO YOU TALKING TO ABOUT DICK MOVE DUDE? STAY OUT MY STUFF IF U CANT A T LIKE A MAN.ALL I DID WAS ASK FOR HELP WITH SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY TRUCK AND IN BOTH UR REPLIES YOU RUNNING YOUR MOUTH WITH DUMB CRAP.....GROW UP MAN

Lol he was not talking to you. He was referencing the Hennessey comment. Hennessey is the worst junk you can put on your ride. Hence the dick move comment lol. Defensive are we?

Back to the topic at hand :) , I'm following this conversation closely because I really want to drop my '06 QC. I rarely tow, never carry heavy loads, and don't generally need lots of ground clearance. However, I don't need to tuck 30" rims, either. In fact, I want to keep the stock rims. I'm pretty much in love with the stance of SRT2SLOW's truck, and I know he went with the JTSVP Extreme 2/5 drop, but I was wondering what other options are out there for the '06?

Even SRT2Slow is too low to not be c-notched. At 5" rear drop you can't put a cooler in the bed without bottoming out everywhere due to axle sitting on frame. No suspension!! Axle need room to move as well as the front control arms. Take a look under at how close everything is now to the bumpstops!! You'll shave those to even get that low, then when you do bottom out its harsh!
2/4 on a QC is perfect while retaining handling and suspension movement.

Looks like your stickin up for him. If he can't handle what I say he shouldn't open his mouth.

You're correct about that, I'm sure he knew to expect a harsh comeback, but obviously we don't all know each other that well.
Shorty is a Christian and a preacher and while most of us can say whatever to each other, I think there's a certain line that should be drawn with regards to respecting a man of The Lord! He didn't attack you with that kind of language, but of course words are just that. Words!
I apologize for intervening but damn man

If he is a man of The Lord he should not judge me or my words.

clearly ridetech has no idea what they're doing...

however, it would likely be a COMPLETELY custom kit as the standard dodge ram kits are for laying frame with no regard for handling...

i'd venture to say you'd spend 10k on an air ride or ridetech kit, when you could spend a couple k on a spring lowering kit and new shocks. c-notching the frame is the best way to do it and never hit the bumpstops - even with a 1-2 kit on a stock RC, you will hit the bump stops on the rear axle and under extreme conditions, rub the inner fenderwells...

Or you could even yank the battery box off the front of the truck....

I know SRT2slow wasn't very happy with his lowering kit, in fact he expressed his displeasure about it in this thread be said that it was for some reason deleted. Maybe whom ever took it down could step in and elaborate why?

lets try this again. the rear is a belltech flip kit no real brainer. but i was told the front spring rate was higher than stock. when i first put it on the truck drove great minus the front end hitting the fender liners all the time. they got destroyed in a few months. i put thicker bump stops and new fender liners but it still hits but not as bad. when I was doing my 6 speed swap some guy with a regular ram came in the shop wanting to put a mcguaghys kit on. I helped him out and his truck handled alot better than mine. i figured it was because of the extra weight of the v10. my sons barber bought a 10 after seeing mine. we lowered his with the mcguaghys kit as well. his truck handled better than mine too and for half the price. i just feel the front bouncing a little more than those trucks with the mcguaghys kit. so I bought qa1 shocks thinking my shocks were done. still the same shit. I feel the spring rate is off. I am not the only one that feel this way. I am not trying to bash his shit but why the high price tag when a cheaper kit can out perform my srt 10 specific kit?
I just wish I would have done a little more research before I bought it. thats all . have a good night .

not sure what e said??

I don't know about that . I've seen a lot of post deleted lately. You guys should let people voice their opinions. Good or bad regardless of the situation. Makes for good reading.

SRT2SLOW's stance is awesome. I would do what ever it takes to make mine sit right with fenders just above tires. I am making my own fender liners out of wheel tubs from summit. It will give you 2-3 more inches of travel before hitting something. Just my 2 cents which is worth very little lol
